cal***gy couldnt even KO evans ashira, a no name bum (dont give me this one handed bull****, ever hear of danny williams?) and there is no way he'll be able to stop a true champion like jeff lacy.
Calzaghe displayed more punching power in his first 20 fights than Lacy did, if you don't believe me then watch them for yourself.

As for Ashira, he wasn't very good, but he was good enough to stop Lacy in the amateurs!

Eubank explained why.. he was about to travel to the US for 10 fights with Bob Arum at 175 to climb the rankings into the number one contender spot so that he could test his skills against Roy Jones (because Jones wouldn't give Eubank a shot, so Eubank was going to try to build his way back up again and get into the mandatory spot). But, then Eubank was offered a lot of money by Frank Warren to fill in for Steve Collins and an instant world title shot, he decided to take this offer because he knew that if he won a world title again then it would give Jones something to come to England and fight for. Eubank was going to go ahead with his 10 fights for Arum in the US after the Calzaghe beating, but again Frank Warren offered him a lot of money to fight Carl Thompson in a much-publicised jump to cruiserweight, so again Eubank thought he'd take the opportunity of an instant world title shot because if he won a world title again he'd be giving Jones something to come to England and fight for. He saw it as an easier way, but obviously it didn't work out and his eye injuries in the Thompson fights forced him to call it a day.

You have been ridiculed for this statement but I believe there is a bit of truth to it...just a bit.

First off you should not say "no way Lacy lasts 12 rounds" this makes you sound just like the LAcy homers who have never seen Calzaghe scrap before...dont do that!

As for the fight lasting 2 runds... I could see either guy getting whacked out of there that early based upon both men and how they like to fight.

Both men are brawlers when it comes down to it...Lacy throws wild shots and just wants to war and Joe talks a good game before fights but he never uses his speed and boxing ability, the second he tastes Laccy Leather is the second he throws out the gameplan and starts attacking.

This fight IS GOING TO BE FIGHT OF THE YEAR! Both men are going to come out throwing bomb after bomb...could someone get caught early...yup and that will be the only thing that could prevent this fight from being THE FIGHT OF THE YEAR!
