This. Can you imagine what would happen if a pro in MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, etc came out after a loss and accused one of the officials of basically throwing the game because they are involved in ********?

      that's some bull

how are you gonna penalize someone for something they said after they just got KTFO'd, and so harshly.

I want to see the people who decided this suspension take a couple hundred shots to the head from a world champion and see how they perform in an interview.

Where the hell were his "people" then? Who allowed the interview to happen in the first place?

I agree with both you guys. Lopez has apologized publicly and on multiple occasions. If I believed his words after the fight would destroy referee Ramirez's career, I would consider the punishment just. As it is, the punishment does not fit the crime. JuanMa deserves a form of disciplinary action, but his career is being willingly jeopardized over some ****** remarks no one took seriously in the first place.

Good, it will humble down Lopez and stop his temper tantrum's after getting stopped in fights.

I know MLB and NBA would punish you with a pretty heavy fine and a long suspension. And your reputation as a professional will take a big hit from your teammates, fans, and other umpires/refs.

Is the punishment justified yes, is the extent of the punishment justified,no. Lopez did something disgraceful and there is no excuse for that hes getting a year and a half suspension. That's something Chisora deserves. Margarito got less time than that.

2014 would b better 4 him & both Ramirez's as they both reffed Salidos bouts...1 is an average ref the other, almost 75 ,can't get out of his own way but PR boxing won't let it go that long...once Cotto gets beat , who's the star???

The allegation came after Lopez was stopped in the tenth round by WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido. Lopez, angry over the stoppage, told a live television audience that Ramirez's ******** habit was a possible influence for the referee's decision to stop the contest.
