Greatest Jabbers of All - Time

To qualify for this, one must have a fast and thudding jab. Alot of good or great fighters have fast jabs but not a combination of hard and fast. It is rare enough to have fighters who have lightning quick reflexes, but what is even scarcer are natural jabbers

Here's my list of the greatest jabbers of all-time

#1 Tommy "Hitman" Hearns(lightning quick, could probably knock an Average Joe out with it)

#2 Larry Holmes(the guy didn't need anything else)

#3 Junior "Poison" Jones(SURPRISE! maybe not one of the greatest, but of recent years,he's probably one of the best if not the best of his era. Barrera didn't have any answer for it, TWICE )

    Honorable Mention(random order)

Muhammad Ali, RJJ(or maybe his jab just looked good against a midget they now call PAZ), ODLH(just not consistent w/ it), Ronald "Winky" Wright(solid), James "Buster" Douglas(just ask Iron Mike)

    * Due to my unfamiliarity with fighters from the past, I probably left out some who belong w/ the 1st tier fighters.

Cool that's just what I think as well. Holmes and Hearns are my two favorite jabs ever. I always thought that Jones was a mini-Hearns, with the same proportional build for his weight class, as well and much the same skill-wise.

Sonny Liston definately deserves to be in the top tier. Joe Louis is another that comes to mind.

As for Roy Jones, he rarely jabbed. In his prime, he consisently led with hooks and crosses. The jab was never his primary weapon and almost never was in his gameplan.

What about Lennox Lewis? When his jab was on it was one of the best. The only person who ever really outjabbed him was Frank Bruno, who had a terrific jab. Even Ray Mercer, who had a hell of a jab himself, was only able to neutralize, not dominate, Lennox's jab.
