I don't think Bradley is average, he is above average to me not elite for sure though. Cotto is not dead to me, of course not what he once was but not dead. PBF and Manny not what they used to be either IMO.

I do feel PBF gonna beat the brakes off Cotto though. Bradley can take even more shine off of Manny and possibly win IMO.

I don't feel the strategy has ever been tried by the fans in boxing. The difference with Ali-Frazier and Leonard vs Hearns is the fact that back then you only got big money for fights of that magnitude. Now PBF or Manny could fight the bum of the month at make $20Mill. Back then if it wasn't a real big or super fight you wasn't going to get paid huge bucks. It should be that way now.

Truthfully that strategy works in other sports. In football when your stadium is empty the owner fires the GM and coaching staff to get the fans back. In basketball the samething happens. When fighters and promoters start to lose money cause fans aren't blindly following and paying money for BS fights on paper and in the ring then it will go back to how it used to be. Where fans routinely got good to great matchups.

But "the fight" isn't the commodity the fighter is. And I don't see it being so different from boxing's heyday. What is different is there are not as many quality fighters period. Other opportunities and the fact boxing has lost its mainstream platform has diminished the quality from the pros down to the amatuers, at least from a US perspective.

I mean SRL amde Hearns wait for 2 years. He was lucky he had a Duran to face during that time. Everyone gives SRL credit for fighting Duran but he did so mainly because the were marinating the Hearns fight. Not too different from now except Floyd and Manny's Durans are Cotto/Hatton/Mosley.

I think people have a tendency to remember the good ole days a lil too good.

The great fighters coming together to make the "fight" is the commodity. You can't have one without the other.

So if there are not that many quality fighters today why waste the fans time and money fighting fighters who are not on their level? That is the problem too many fighters and promoters are selling folks BS and telling them to like it and too many are liking it.

I wouldn't mind waiting for PBF vs Manny is they were fighting challenges on a regular basis but they are not. They both even tell the fans that is what they are doing in not fighting the best challenge. They fight the best big named challenge for the most money. Not the best physical boxing challenge. Even though we all know Duran is greater. Martinez is the only Duran for PBF or Manny if they not gonna fight each other.

Let's keep on going with this fake letting fights marinade to long bit. Then all we gonna get is a bunch of Salido vs. Lopez type of things happening. Thats not good for the fans. Gamboa vs Lopez should have been happened now that fight is worth nothing. PBF vs Manny is approaching that.
