As much as I like the fight, Hershman should be fired if he does something like this. Unless HBO manages to get the fight for super super cheap, the only way having Pirog and Geale on HBO makes sense is if they're the b-side against American based opponents like Andy Lee and Peter Quillin in separate fights. Otherwise no way Pirog vs Geale should not be a main event. Maybe an undercard fight.
If this is a cheap BAD card, I guess I could see it. HBO might be trying to invest in a future opponent for Marintez/Chavez....maybe?
I like the fights and most boxing fans do to(I assume), but I think it'd make more sense for Trout-Dizzy to be the main event and hold it in Texas or wherever his last ShoBox fight was. He didn't draw a huge crowd or anything, but it was respectable by today's standards and the people there seemed to really support him.

They must be trying to build a fan base for these guys in the states so they can get a title challenger for Martinez. I was gonna say HBO is trying to step their event game up after NBC's last event this weekend but these guys are kinda unknown to the general American public.
If they would feature more 160 lbs fighters on HBO and showcase them more, then Martinez wouldn't have have to chase smaller guys for bigger pay days
Pirog, GGG, N'Dam N'Jikam, Quillin, Geale even Strum all need to be featured and showcased MORE, this would help the 160 Division which I don't think is as weak as some people try to make it out to be, it is just that neither network has made the effort to at least try and showcase the other fighters in it other then Sergio
I think GGG and N'Jikam especially would give Sergio some MAJOR PROBLEMS!
This would be a nice double header card by the way!

Geale is with Shaw right? Maybe he signed a deal with HBO and they're gonna feed him to Martinez.

I don't wanna see another boxing event in Texas for the rest of my life.
