Funny part is they're the same people who defend Floyd's roadblocks tooth and nail. You honestly believe if Pacquiao fought in his older style, where he would mostly look to land his straight left hand, Clottey wouldn't have timed him? It was Pacquiao's more tuned offensive arsenal that kept Clottey in his shell, his ability to mix up his attack alot better and also Pacquiao's body punching too.

As for Hatton, the right hook wasn't anything new but it was more tuned and Hatton admitted to not being able to recover from that punch after it dropped him.

For Pacquiao to have kept Clottey in his shell, Pacquiao would have to have gotten to Clottey for Clottey to think it was necessary. Manny himself said that he looked bad because Joshua wouldn't fight.

Joshua on the other hand, was timing and landing great shots against Pacquiao. The evidence is Pacquiao's face at the end of the fight. If Clottey would have stepped up his activity, the fight would have been very different because he was successful at what he was doing. Joshua came in planning to use the shell to weather the storm and pick his shots.

For you to pretend that I'm exaggerating the effect of two pounds, have the same discussion with a collegiate wrestler. Everyone is different. Some people have easier times dropping the weight. Others have a devil of a time.

Cotto has gone on record to explain what his experience was like. He's already told the world that he would not sacrifice his body for Pacquiao again.

As far as Hatton goes, he started swinging for the fences and he got blasted for his troubles. He admitted that he abandoned EVERYTHING he had worked on previously with the hopes that he could land one good shot to hurt Pacquiao.

Now, Pacquiao did the right thing by capitalizing off Hatton's bad judgement. But was that a sign of improvement? I don't think so. Was Pacquiao getting caught with wild haymakers before? No, he wasn't.

I really dont agree with the way they are describing Manny or his opponents, all this catchweight bollocks, assumptions of rampant steroid abuse. Its an absolute joke, and the funniest things is that these bumsniff's claim to be boxing fans! No, seriously, boxing fans!

just a couple of observations from the responses in this thread:

1) most of the posters who say that pac has not improved are floyd fans. They insist that pac is still the one-dimensional, low iq boxer that he was in his earlier career. If that is the case then why are these same people so rabidly supporting floyd's continued excuses to block this fight from happening?

2) it seems that the people who ridicule pac's iq are those who have questionable iq levels themselves. For proof of this, see observation #1.
