During the round, seconds (b) Must not mount the stairs or apron or enter the ring until the bell indicates the end of a round.
the bell had rang....Now what about in a case of knockdown at the end of the round.
Under the ABC referee guidelines: "The bell to the the round should not be sounded by the timekeeper during a count. The timekeeper is to ring the bell after the count and the referee's evaluation."
The timekeeper made a mistake by ringing the bell during the count. Once the bell rings the corner man can go in the ring cuz' the round is over. Molina corner didn't break any rule. The timekeeper had to ring the bell once the count was done.
The corner did nothing under the "RULES".
The outcome should be overturn to a NC. You can't give Molina the W because there is no way of knowing he would have won. But, they should overturn this and call it a NC. Since no rule was broken. The only one who broke the RULE was the timekeeper.
Idk where you got this from but you need to send this over to Molina's facebook or twitter or some **** . But if GBP has their hands in this, if they are the ones indeed who yelled "DQ him!", it's gonna be hard to overturn especially if they pay whoever "investigates" this.
From what it sounded to me he ran over there and told them he was DQ'ing molina. Not positive though.
Doesn't sound logical cause if he wanted to DQ them he would've stopped the count and went over to the side and told them to. Instead the whole thing happened AFTER he finished his count. But who knows unless we get the inside from someone that was there in person.
just when you think you've 'seen it all' in boxing, something ridiculous like this pops up -- the ref clearly had no intention of DQing Molina until he went over to some BS "official" -- the DQ is a joke -- what happened had absolutely no effect on either fighter or the eventual outcome of the fight-- deprived both fighters of an opportunity at a legitimate victory -- and deprived paying and watching fans of seeing a conculsion -- even Kirkland's trainer disapproved -- yet another in a seemingly endless list of black eyes for boxing....
I have no interest in seeing a rematch. Molina did what he had to do, but it wasn't aesthetically pleasing. I'd rather see both fighters against other opponents. Molina-Williams could be interesting. Williams would let his hands go and Molina doesn't hit very hard, so his chin might hold up.
It was an obvious screw up by the official but no way was the outcome certain anyway.
Molina had just been KD and rocked. He might have even went on to get KTFO.
But I don't want to see a rematch anyway Molina did only enough fighting to not look like he was wrestling. We probably can count more clinches than actual punches by Molina. He's going back to undercards and ESPN.
The fight was just BS all around, crazy amounts of clinching by Molina with the ref not doing a damn thing about it and Kirkland being clueless what to do. We get a little action where it looks like either Kirkland will get a great comeback victory or Molina will have to stand his ground and secure the win then BAM a DQ pops up with tons of confusion happening.
