A fight with Gatti makes sense - if and only if it's a tune up for PBF at 140, and then it is an ideal fight.

Probably PBF will fight his seventh consecutive tune up for another HBO $4.5M before we see him against an opponent with a pulse, so a November 2006 showdown with Hatton could work - if PBF comes down to 140 which he definitely can.

Two fights, two belts. Hatton needs no tune ups. A Gatti fight would be a shame and a waste of time. Just a $$$ gig. However, PBF did exactly the same thing so think first, haters before loosing your tongues.
As an objective (not a huge fan nor a hater, just an appreciater) person, if he's still talking 3 fights it needs to be Cotto, Corales, PBF not in any particular order. It's belts or the best. Hatton's got millions. He doesn't have greatness yet.

The worst thing about a Gatti fight is that due to styles Hatton will never be able to top Mayweather's performance in terms of asthetics. He might actually get Gatti out of there as quickly, but he'll take some coming in. Just his style, I know, but it will draw unfair comparisons from many.

I'd hate to see Hatton in with Gatti, I think he'd stop Gatti but you never know do you, what if he himself got stopped on cuts?..it just messes everything up. Now he has the belts to bargain with he should only fight fighters who are percieved to be his equal or better than him and there are only two of those in Mayweather and Cotto. Hatton's had 40 fights its taken him 38 to reach the top tier so why risk it against Gatti.

A PBF/Hatton fight AFTER Hatton beats Gatti is worth lots more $$$$$$$ than right now.

Neither PBF or Hatton are big PPV draws here. Put Hatton/Gatti on HBO, promote the heck out it, and then go for the November PPV for the big bucks. Hatton and PBF fans are going to watch the fight no matter when it is. They've got to draw in the casual fans to justify a big PPV.

That's true actually. Weird how people would pay top dollar to watch Gatti get smacked silly.

Say if Gatti DID win... where do you think that would put Hatton in the mix? Would he get another shot or would he plunge into obscurity?

I guarantee somewhere down the line Gatti will get another title shot.

He is the best promoted fighter of the past 10 years.
