  • Hatton Out For 6 Months!

It has been reported by the Hatton camp, that IBF and WBA junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton will not fight for at least 6 months.

Hatton wants to take the time off in order to let the two vicious cuts he suffered in Saturday's bout with Carlos Maussa heal. [details]

...When Hatton returns, he is targeting Arturo Gatti, Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather, as possible opponents for his next fight.

    Here it is again...

    Really what's up with Gatti?
I think the only reason Hatton is considering Gatti, is for his America tune-up. Notice I said America and not American.

Great pay day, easy opponent, and a foot in on the American soil.

Now he has a built in excuse when Floyd beats him like he stole something.

6 months is just the end of May. I could see him fighting Gatti in June setting up a mega fight with Floyd or Cotto in November/December.

I could see him getting beat by Gatti too.

Man...what a bloody mess Hatton/Gatti fight would be. Both have skin above their eyes as supple as a g**** peel. And they split open like g****s too.

This fight has 6 rounds or less written all over it. And it won't be by a KO punch.....but by a doctor's decision.

So...it's a matter of who gets cut first. Sorry, but it'll be a controversial decision.

hed ****in kill gatti, beat cotto late and lose to PBF imo, id not like to see the gatti match, too little left to beat, he should go straight for cotto in june then floyd in nov but i doubt that will happen

Without the cut factor, Gatti should lose. Despite his new boxing skills, he'd still get taken out by Hatton.

Remember Gatti actually asking Ricky for tips on how to beat Floyd? That would be weird actually because they're on good terms, though I don't think Ricky's the type to let that bother him, is he?

As I said in another thread, Frank Warren signed up Ricky's IBF mandatory (name??) so I imagine he'll be taking some action to make sure Hatton has to take that bout first. Kind of puts a block on his upward trajectory, doesn't it?
