Lewis got stripped of off 2 belts ibf and WBA for fighting different people other then Ruiz and Byrd

Lewis was stripped of the WBA title and not fighting Ruiz (still not seen at the time as a worthy challenger) for defending the WBC title instead against #1 contender Micheal Grant, who was being touted as the next big thing and ranked higher than Ruiz by The Ring magazine. He was stripped of the IBF title and not fighting Byrd because again he chose to defend against the WBC's #1 contender Mike Tyson, who was not only a more lucrative fight but perceived as the more dangerous one at the time.

It can hardly be called a ducked when you take on the tougher and higher ranked comp at the time. TS would be complaining if Lewis fought Byrd and Ruiz, and didn't fight Grant and Tyson.
