just a side note
Just rewatch the Lennox vs Mccall fight.
LENNOX WAS CLEARLY ***ING ROBBED
SO technically he have 1 defeat to Rahman which he avenged.
Lewis made the count and was able to continue the ref was a moron and stopped the fight prematurely. Lennox was like 90% coherent and woulda just used the lennox grab to recover and charge his power bar back up to 100%
Lennox Lewis .. counted out too early against mccall and robbed against Holyfeild the first time.
WHAT A CHAMPION to have come back from these attempts to destroy him.
what a champ
also if mccall had hit wlad with the shot he hit Lewis. wlad would have diedComment

And what's more priceless than a fearless warrior like Vitali, battle-worn and wanting to fight on and asking for a rematch immediately is Lewis desperately trying to justify his performance with "look at the state of his face" and "he would've got knocked out by me" and trying to grab the mic from Larry Merchant, who asked just the right questions to catch Lennox, and Lennox lying to 20,000 boxing fans promising a rematch.Comment

Ali did it a million times more convincingly and better against Foreman than Lewis when he "beat" Vitali, sorry.

Vitali was inactive on his injury for 7 months. And there's quite a difference between not rematching a fight in where you were winning 7 of 9 rounds and weren't in trouble at all and rematching one of the biggest, most spectacular heavyweight fights in years. And I don't even recall Vitali promising Byrd a rematch.Last edited by Superflo777; 03-23-2012, 06:07 AM.Comment

No, he simply told the fans before he left the ring that he would be back to get his title. So instead of going after it he let little brother have it and than continued to avoid Byrd for several more years even though Chris was calling him out. Do you see the difference? One man retired to live life in the lap of luxury. The other avoided a guy he quit against while remaining active. And please don't give me the same old song and dance about how there was no need for a rematch. The German fans were cheering Byrd when he was backing up Vitaly and when they announced him the new champion. The fight would have been huge in Germany with Klit looking to prove he wasn't a disgraceful quitter and avenging the loss.
Here's the video for confirmation of EVERYTHING I just said.
