Marciano went out way better. Try again.

In 2004 Vitali Klitschko and Chris Byrd were the Number 1 and Number 2 heavyweights in the world. WBC and IBF champions respectively.

Vitali had a chance to right the wrongs of the past and unite two heavyweight belts.

Instead Vitali chases beltless Danny Williams, and semi-retired Sanders who was also beltless. Vitali would rather jump off a cliff than face Byrd again.

        HIM

        OUT

Also the only guy that would have been good enough to be a sparring partner
for Lennox in this era is Wladimir Klithscko.

All you guys musta forgot Wladimir use to fight on Lennox undercards and shined his knob every night....
I appreciate Lennox and think he was the best heavy since Holmes but that doesn't change the fact that Vitali was beating him and he got lucky to win on cuts and then avoided a very highly anticipated rematch that f^cking everyone in boxing wanted to see. This isn't rocket science.

Vitali got lucky in facing an unmotivated Lewis. Klitschko fans piss and moan about a rematch but Lewis would have come into a rematch much fitter, motivated and a completely different fighter than the first time around. Lewis was often complacent when fighting challengers he was expected to beat easily but always stepped up his game when expecting a real challenge.

            Lewis-Vitali is controversial but Whitaker/Chavez and Whitaker/Ramirez aren't.

What happened to respecting the official verdict?

Great fighters overcome bad injuries and win fights. When Marciano got cut, he transformed into GOD mode and knocked his opponent out. Vitali instead gets progressively weaker and gets hit by slow moving uppercuts and hooks.

Marciano earned the KO record, and did it without steroids or putting up a b1tchfit. I hope he keeps it forever.
              Lol, earned his record Hahahahahaha!!!!!!

Do we need to do a knocked out opponent record comparison? Most of his KO's were against guys that had been starched numerous times.
              I didn't think so bud.
I love Marciano but he was over rated and would not stand a chance in Ali's era on. He was just way, way too small and didn't have a big bag of tricks.

Why didn't Vitali rematch Byrd and avenge the TKO loss?

The doctor didn't have a mistaken opinion as the picture quite clearly shows.
While the cut was nasty, Vitali could clearly still see out of it and the corner was doing and exceptional job with it. I agree that it was a good stoppage, but I have always just thought the fight left a lot of questions still unanswered, like who really was better out of the two.

A rematch wouldn't have answered that. You would need a time machine and teleport Klitschko to around the 1999 version of Lennox.
