If he's willing to fight Chavez he should be should be willing to fight Ward or Bute who are no bigger.

Why should he have to move up ONCE AGAIN??? He's the true 160 champion. He's a 154 fighter! The whole reason this debate even came up is because the JCC Jr camp is trying to avoid fighting him. Plain and simple. JCC Jr should step up or HE should be the one to vacate! Give Martinez his belt back that Suliamen basically gave Jr.Comment

they're not real fans, they're just trolls. i honestly don't think jcc jr fans really exist. they're just another word for trolls.
and i respect cotto, he's a true fighter. i just can't stand some of his fans. yeah, martinez is a MW, but he's willing to fight cotto at 154 where he was once a champ and cotto currently is. i think he might even do 152/151 if cotto really pushed for it. only reason martinez disses cotto now a days is because cotto dissed him. he always said as a reason that he won't fight martinez is because "he fights c and b level fighters". i even think he said martinez was a b level fighter. yet you fight foreman & mayorga? i don't get it. he and his team had talks about fighting chavez jr or canelo too before the mayweather fight was done. honestly, which one would you give more credit to? cotto beating canelo/chavez, or cotto beating martinez?
difference is chavez is a MW who has a belt. boxingscene posted up a couple post fight interviews, check the martinez one out. he said 'he wants the belt not chavez, he just comes with the package'. martinez has no intentions on fighting past 160 at this day and age.
if bute and ward would come down to 160 then that'd be the same, cause they would probably be around chavez's fight night weight if they were able to squeeze down to MW like chavez does.Comment

My bad I meant Barker. Dzinzurik was undefeated and a "dangerous" high risk fight. Barker was undefeated as well. Williams makes 160 easy so he should be counted as a 160 fighter. Macklin pretty much beat Sterm who is a middleweight champion. My point being is that Martinez has been fighting high risk/little reward opponents. Jr has been fighting bums. Rubio is the best name on his record and he's very overrated, ask Pavlik! Not trying to go back and forth with you but to compare Martinez's opposition to JCC Jr's is pointless. Martinez wins that everytime.
One side note...do you JCC Jr fans honestly think he could beat the same Williams & Pavlik Martinez schooled??? I think Macklin or Dzinzurik would probably beat him as well.Comment

what are you talking about? when martinez fought williams he was a highly regarded fighter, an avoided fighter at that too.

Eveyone hating on someone, all you have to see who he's been in the ring with and what the results are. Martinez beat the number 2 guy in the division. He was the best 154 pounder and is now the best 160 pounder. Nuff said. Leave the hate behind and respect what the man has done.Comment
