Martinez is 5'9; Margarito is 5'10. Why can't Pac fight Sergio?

this would have to be at least at 154. Sergio moves down a division, Floyd moves up a division...
    Exactly.

Floyd is fighting Cotto at 154, he has to fight Sergio at that same weight.

I think it's in Floyd's intentions to fight Sergio at 154; this Cotto fight is just a warm up to the division since he hasn't fought at 154 since 2007.

    • Because Pacquiao doesn't fight anyone with a pulse

      • and Mike Tyson is 5'10"....why doesn't Pacquiao fight him?

Last time I checked, boxing was based off of weight classes not height classes.

Yet, in this thread, height now means nothing? Which one is it?

When someone responds to "Pacquaio deserves credit for beating Margarito because he's bigger" with "So Mayweather deserves credit for beating Baldomir?" it conveniently becomes a thing about height and not weight.

Then when it's switched up to height. It's not not height, but weight.

I'm not saying Mayweather deserves credit for Baldomir because he's bigger than him and the same for Pac's win over Margarito. Just highlighting the double standard/ ****** logic.

I personally don't give credit for either win because Baldomir's not very good and Margarito was shot to pieces. Regardless of the fact both are vastly smaller than their opponent.

I have never heard people giving Manny credit for beating a tall fighter in Margarito.

Everything was about him fighting a guy 17lbs bigger than him, and even at that, his win over Tony wasn't near as hyped as his wins over other opponents.

You act like people were stating Margarito was a career defining win, when no on stating anything other than it was just a good win over a bigger (weight wise) opponent.

For the record, Baldomir sucks. He really only has one good win, in judah.

This right here picture a bigger, faster, and harder hitting version of JMM.

            • arum looks after his cash cow. everyone knows pacquiaos flaws, he cant deal with lateral movement and counterpunchers. remind you of someone? theres no way hes ever gonna fight martinez, its not just the style and class but the size. he only fights bigger men if they fit his style and are vastly overrated, like margarito.

martinez would knock pacquiao out cold every time, only question is if he goes out on his back or his face. still, with the size you cant blame pacquiaos ppl for not fighting him. pacquiao doesnt belong at that weight, its one thing to fight margarito but any top 154lber would beat him at that weight if they werent drained.

Literally less than a week ago I was in thread and I said the Margarito win was garbage and I get the "Well he's much bigger so it's a good win" response so I respond with "Well, Baldomir is much bigger than Mayweather" and then I was conveniently responded to with "Oh but he's much taller aswell, it's about height" and things along those lines.

People were saying it's a good win in that very thread. Plently of people do. Merely by pointing to the fact he's bigger and dismissing the fact he was shot to pieces.

Baldomir does suck, I agree. I don't rate him, never have, never will.

He's still much bigger than Mayweather and if Pacquaio get's credit solely for Margarito being "bigger" then the same standar should apply for Mayweather?

Me personally? Both are **** fights.

The size difference wasn't as pronounced. Also, Margarito was a much more threatening fighter than Baldo ever was. Judah going 12 with Marg would be an upset, loaded gloves or not. Not every weight draining plodder is Margarito.

He still outweighed him 13 Lbs. That's alot. He had a big size advantage.

I'd say Margarito at that point and Baldomir in 2006 were about as threatening as each other.

                    • Pac could fight him at a cw of 150 but then people would criticize the cw, so im not sure its worth it.

He could fight Sergio, but Pac has beaten enough great fighters already to last a lifetime. He fight Sergio after Floyd fights him first, how about that.
