Martinez was winning throughout. The 'knockdown' was a trick: Macklin
twisted him and put his left leg behind him to fall over. It wasn't even a real punch. 10-8 round my eye!
Anyway, Macklin didn't run out of gas, all the body shots took their toll.
Martinez is good and he's fearless. He'll come down to 154 and be ready for Mayflower but the gutless one will never fight him.

Told y'all Macklin was better then you fu ck's gave him credit for he fought a good fight and it was a classic but man i liked how Martinez was able to adjust and thhats the mark of a great fighter i think now he deserves some credit hes getting stick for fighting barker and macklin but they are better then anyone on here expected and guess what Martinez still knocked them out credit where credit is due.

Respect to macklin he beats any other middleweight out there sturm or Jcc he beats either but the jcc fight would be great match of styles

Martinez isn't overrated. Stylistically, the way they stand and the punches Martinez throws, he wasn't really given the angles to land on Macklin until he slowed down and Martinez picked it up. Chavez on the other hand is squared up and easier to hit, the problem is Chavez is much bigger and takes a great shot. He also hits harder and is a better offensive fighter. People calling Martinez a bum and bigging Chavez up but Chavez is fighting at 180, if he was also 165 lbs Martinez would wipe the floor with this kid. I think if Martinez's punches have an effect on Chavez he wins, if he's just too small and doesn't hit hard enough, Chavez will lose respect and take it...but I gotta go with my boy Martinez based on skill if size plays out to be the factor than so be it.
