Very entertaining fight and really can't wait to see both in the ring again.

Clearly people think the gameplan is to not try & pressure sergio but to box him & stay home & not punch or stay covered & just fight in spots. But He was never not in control of that fight from my view...hit macklin one shot at a time all the way thru...Can't see how anybody could have that fight close or even. Ledderman's dumb azz daughter had serg down 3 pts even after kd's...crazy. One man walks away battered the other walks away the way he walked in the ring & they said it was tied.... foh.

What a great finish by Sergio. When he started really picking it up in the 9th round, I was feeling the KO eventually coming, but was iffy if he had enough time to hurt Macklin enough to drop him. Good to see him get a win over a top 5 Middleweight. I'd really like to see him up against Sturm, Geale, or Pirog next... ESPECIALLY Pirog. But considering that the guy wants to make money he's probably gonna go for JCC Jr. next or the winner of Mayweather/Cotto or Pac/Bradley. Not the best performance by him, but it was good to see him come really pull through and stamp that win with that KO. I'm not gonna lie though, watching his last few fights compared to his fights with Dzinziruk, Pavlik, and Williams I feel like he's slowing down a little. Maybe his age is catching up to him? Or maybe the last few guys just gave him problems stylistically. Either way, I enjoyed it while it lasted.

McGirt sucks as a trainer, I dont understand how he keeps getting fighters!! Dude blows, anyway Martinez went into another level after the knockdown. Few fighters have another gear and he is one of them. Chavez jr will continue to duck him forever, or at least till he is 40. Good win for Sergio, like it or
not he continues to dominate the best in his division...

It's simple, to beat Sergio you must throw straight punches in bunches, Macklin throws looping shots so he never really had a chance at the end of the day.. plus I knew If Barker couldn't beat Sergio than no way could the smaller Macklin.. say what you will but Julio already has all of the physical attributes to beat Sergio, hes tall big and strong, but he needs to learn how to throw straight punches over the top also.. you know 1 2's.. If he can do that I give the kid a good shot at beating Martinez because he will be too big for him..

i thought the fight was pretty even going into the 11. Macklin didnt do too much, but sergio wasnt exactly putting the hurt in macklin either. i just dont know why sergio waits sool long to put the hurt on his opponents. he could probably done the same thing to macklin if lets his hands go more often in the early rounds. but hey hes the fighter not me.

I thought HBO was pretty anti-Sergio tonight. Macklin fought a great fight but Sergio adjusted and got the win.

Martinez thought Macklin would be more aggressive, since he wasn't as aggressive as Martinez thought he had to adjust.

He dominated the fight. I had Macklin winning 2 rounds, one being a 10-8. Martinez didn't dominate in a Mayweather style fashion but he did exactly what he said he would do he just had to adjust and that took him longer than expected. TKO in 11 instead of 9.
cosign. I disagree w/ brother jay also....Martinez dominated all the way thru. Macklin went from being ricky hatton to trying to be JMM & box & move. People have learned not to give srg an opportunity to hit them. But even 1 shot at a time he has the sharp punching pwr to break opps down. He's a very dangerous fighter. Not to mention I believe serg was not up AT ALL for this fight. I didn't think he looked to be in supreme shape or very excited to face another guy like macklin. But let him get that chavez fight & I will bet my life & my mortgage & everything else I own...we'll see him go to another level. Jr doesn't hit hard....Jr is long & big but jr gasses at the end of fights. It would be a good showdown....SM's team has proven to me they know how to put together a very good gameplan...but these fights bore serg...
