Lol Macklin did well because he was not putting hard pressure, but smart pressure actually. If Macklin would've applied relentless pressure he would've been KOd a lot sooner.

Exactly. Mcgirt had macklin watching out for the left down the pipe. once he got tired he couldn't move out the way anymore and got blasted out just like paul williams. Chavez jr has no defense whatsoever.

Another impressive win by Martinez, even though he was cutting it close. This is his 4th straight knockout of a top 10 middleweight fighter. Now that is damn impressive!

The only problem I saw was Martinez has a bad habit of admiring his work. He lands a nice shot and instead of capitalizing it and throwing more he lays back and admires his work. It almost cost him in this fight.

Those who want to bash him and say his finished, etc. Bbased on this fight are so wrong. Macklin came out as a defensive minded counter puncher and Martinez had to adjust to Macklin's new style. Early Macklin was able to time Martinez's left hand and block it or dodge it, but later on Martinez put more pressure started releasing his left hand quicker and in combination with his jab and Macklin could not keep up with the speed so he was unable to continue timing Martinez's left hand. So it took time for Martinez to adjust and he adjusted well which resulted in 2 knockdowns in the 11th.

By the way Julie Lederman's card was ridiculous, she is just as bad as her dad. Also, is it me or is Buddy Mcgirt becoming too eager to stop a fight on behalf of his fighter?

Shows how much you know and that you're just a fanboy talking out of your @ss. That's the exact and only reason why Macklin lasted so long. If he would've came out with his usual come forward bull rushing style he would've been out of there quicker or picked apart to a UD loss. Probably same reason why Chavez would lose to Martinez. All he knows is the inside game.

you might think that, but i go by results. martinez was the best fighter at 154 and now he's the best fighter at 160. you might not like his style but you have to respect the fact that he wins. and he's been winning for a long time now.
