Is Floyd a bigger draw than Oscar was?

Together, they did the biggest fight in boxing History. Since Oscar has retired Mayweather has gone on to consistently do a million buys, sometimes with overmatched or little known opponents.

Oscar accomplished the 1 million+ buys 3 times.

    Bigger draw is Floyd.

Combine all his fans + all his haters and you get huge numbers.

You got people that hate him coming in from every direction whether it be UFC fans or people of a certain ethnicity.

Very good point. I forgot about even the UFC guys hating him. It all equals money, though.

        Yes, no doubt about it.

Now one can make an argument that 24/7 has to do with it. Oscar didn't have that for most of his career. However, how were the buys for Roy-Calzaghe?

Floyd has done around a mili consistently for the last 4 fights. And, if Floyd did some of the numbers that a prime Oscar did in his peak like 400k, 500k, it would be considered a massive failure. So yea Floyd is the bigger draw.

I agree. 24/7 is really only interesting in rematches or if Floyd is in it. The Cotto vs Marg 24/7 was great because of the big controversy so we got to hear a lot of what Cotto believed

24/7 has jumped the shark. It is only for fan boys. Cotto-Marg was the exception but before that the last interesting/good one was Pac-Hatton perhaps. Floyd-JMM/Mosley/Ortiz 24/7 were whack. The 2 best ones were Floyd-Oscar and Floyd-Hatton. But, after Floyd 24/7 been whack but it is not his fault. There isn't anything new to learn. It just for fan boys to hear of big boy mansions and nonsense. But, that show is more for casual fans. So as long as they like then it's fine and will help the drawing power.

Floyd isnt even usually the biggest draw on his own card. Canelo, Morales and Mexican independence day sold the Ortiz PPV, not him

                are boxinscene really this ignorant?

                I'm serious

you guys are either all 10 year olds or trolling.

You guys are comparing a guy who didn't have the luxury of online media exposure to a guy who's now fighting in the era of online media exposure as never before.

You guys are comparing a guy who fought in a era with a dozen other stars to a guy who's now in a era with one other legit star.

Trust me on this a prime Mike Tyson now wlil do 4 million a fight..

So is he bigger then Ali?

A Prime Ali now will sell 9 million a fight ppv probably, so let's calm down here about PPV.

The world watched tyson and oscar, most countries dont have that PPV stuff.

Floyd realistically dont even draw as much as vitali klithscko if you count in sheer number of fans watching .

It's Floyd, and it started with the Oscar fight. Many people chalk that one up to Oscar's name which is true, but not entirely. That promotion and 24/7 catapulted Floyd.

Since then, he's only failed to reach 1MM with Hatton, and they did around 950K.
