Do you think Arum would rather sit Gamboa for 2 years and not get paid or get his contract bought out?

I have to give them credit for thinking out side the box, but to just brain wash the fans and smear Yuri is disgusting.
Cubanborn87 made a couple of threads several days before the Miami press conference where he indicated that the fight was in jeopardy. Apparently, the word was getting out that Yuri wasn't happy with his contract. It would be interesting if a bunch of guys on an Internet boxing forum knew this before Top Rank and Arena Box did. Or did they know and proceeded with the press conferences anyway?

(I couldn't track down the threads, otherwise I would've provided links.)

Naive to think a man (Arum) who is all about money would rather NOT get any money for 2 years and sit Gamboa? Neither one of us actually knows what Arum would do. So your opinion could be considered naive as well. Its all subjective.

Honestly, I think Arum would rather sit him; especially when his competitors can make more money off him. I don't think his ego will allow another Mayweather situation - where he goes on to become a box office sensation after leaving him. . .

Mayweather was 30 something and sat out 19 months...

Ray Leonard sat out 6 years & he was in his 30s....

I ain't spiteful like that - I'd rather see him buy his contract out and continue fighting ASAP because I'm a huge fan of boxing, and am still kinda/sorta a fan of Gamboa. . . Just don't like how he did us

I have no doubt in my mind that this contract situation will get resolved and Gamboa will fight again this year.

gamboa wont be sitting for 2 years no matter how this goes. the who idea is simply absurd. sure he may be tied up in court for some time, but it'll likely be over within the year, its a breach case. and regardless of what the court rules, if gamboa doesnt want to fight for top rank, he wont be fighting for top rank. he will have to pay damages to them tho, which is essentially like buying out his contract. but chances are all of this will be settled within the year. no 2 yrs, u guys are hysterics.

but may was already a guaranteed million dollar buy man. . . Leonard was the equivalent in his day. . .

Gamboa is still basically a nobody in the big scheme of tihngs. . He's big amongst us real hardcore fans, but the mainstream doesn't really know him. . He was just now starting to break into the million dollar paydays. . . Still a year or two away from being a PPV fighter. . .

That's with Top Rank. The way I understand it, Gamboa's issue is with Arena Box, whom he's signed with until 2016!
