Who mentioned anything about weight draining Martinez is a good fighter but that's where it stops for me, Pavlik was a drunk and still is. Wasn't Dzinzurik in the division below but was forced to fight Sergio By HBO so that really isn't a good win he looked good but Dzinzurik has fought nobody's himself like i said I believe Martinez is a beneficiary of great timing on account of his opponents state's at the times of there fights and fights after.

I'll believe the WBC will force this fight to happen when I see it. No chance it happens.

Martinez said he doesn't trust Chavez after the devacle in Houston.
about two weeks ago he said hes willing to accept 70/30 so i think hevwill

          Easy work for JR.

Sergio was always the one ducking this fight. If Sergio finally accepts-- you know he just wants to cash in on his pathetic career.

Prepare to see Top Rank announce that Chavez is moving up to 168lbs.
i doubt it,,,the champs are bute and someone named andre ward whos the best 168 lb fighter and is a unified champ and has wbc belt which chavez will fight for i really think ward is harder to beat than martinez si to me moving up is even harder too bcuz the weight advantage will be smaller for him too

              Martinez is average

stop acting like martinez is great. all martinez is a lucky guy who hit the human stick with a wild punch and won and then beat a drunk on a cut. martinez is an average fighter now old and his meager career is about over. Chavez mops the floor with this average pug. what a hoot! martinez is average.

Chavez deserves 80% of the money

since chavez is absolutely the bigger draw and more popular he should demand 80% of the purse. Martinez brings nothing but an overrated rep to the fight. Martinez has zero fan base sells few tickets-appeals to no one. Chavez has all of mexico in an uproar and every Hispanic in the states going crazy even the 9 million illegals already here. Chavez should demand the bulk of the cash.

Yeah, but Martinez beat Manny Pacquiao out of F.O.T.Y for 2010 and Ring magazine said he fought better opponents then Pac did that year. Not bad for someone who was/is not a draw or has fought weak opposition. Sergio Martinez is a good solid fighter who would massacre Chavez Jr.

I don't think it will happen.

If Top Rank do actually make them an offer, I hope Martinez takes it rather than insisting on random drug testing. Yeah, the sport should have it for all title fights, but we all know there's no chance of Chavez/Arum accepting it. All that will do is give them a reason to avoid the fight, and Sullaiman, HBO and a lot of fans will sadly support them.

Martinez has an overrated rep but Chavez Jr doesn't? Chavez got his pops speaking up for him against Martinez. Jr is a bum who can't even make weight. Martinez got stripped for his title so that this cradled daddy's boy could have a title. Garbage Jr ain't no real champion. Sulaiman said in the article that Top Rank is trying to keep the fight from happening.
