There was a thread yesterday in which Steve Kim quoted Arum about Chavez vs Murray. I really hope the WBC enforces a match vs Martinez- Chavez is just a paper champ who rides the name of his father.

Now that word is out that Martinez hasn't been looking all that great in sparring recently. I'm sure Chavez is licking his chops, guess we'll find out in a couple weeks whether father time has got a hold of Martinez yet, he is what 38 years old? Martinez ain't got that much left in the tank, he can't compete at that high level forever... Chavez is just entering into his prime and by the time these two fight it will be the old man vs the young stud...

Sulaiman said in the article that Top Rank is trying to keep the fight from happening.

I'm not holding my breath for this one. I'm already expecting Chavez/Murray, which won't be a fight I'll be mad at tbh. Murray is a good fighter who is in his physical prime, and will come to fight. He's also top 15 opposition, which I've been dying for Chavez to fight for the longest, so make it happen. Put Martinez up against another titlist (after Macklin) so he can unify.
