I clearly remember this fight and the only reason he quit was because he felt he was losing(which he was not) and there was no sense to keep taking a beating not based on boxing but in roughness allowed by the biased ref. Tszyu was on the ladder part of his career hence the only reason hatton won. Yes he did quit one more rd. the fight would have been a draw. If that fight would have taken place anywhere but the UK no way Hatton wins.

I get the feeling he gets **** on quite a lot around here now because of the Pacquiao fight especially and because Floyd TKOed him yet he was the last fighter to realistically win more than 1-2 rounds vs Floyd and pressured him the whole fight.

If Shane attacked non stop he would have been stopped, as would Marquez.

Extremely underrated. He was a very good fighter and brought excitement to the sport and made it accessible to the wider public. At his very best he was fast and relentless and one can only wonder how much further his career could have gone had he been more disciplined outside the ring.

I think the sport misses him.

Just because he was a stand up guy and and didn't want to make excuses. There is something called class in boxing. Not too many show it in defeat but some do. hatton beat Tszyu and that's how history will show. I can only comment on things i have witnessed during my life time. I try to stay away from threads that relate to fights that I did not witnessed live. I know what I saw that night thus my opinion stands and I respect yours.

look, hatton is under rated by some and over rated by others. either way, i see him as an all action face first brawler that came to win, regardless of who he was fighting. boxing fans have got to appreciate that he was willing to take some to give some.

either way, the boxing world misses him, or they should do anyway.

is he an all time great? no.

is he a hall of famer? probably not.

but that doesnt matter, he gave 100% and always come to win, even against mayweather. so you have to respect that.
