    Ricky Hatton underrated?

I get the feeling he gets **** on quite a lot around here now because of the Pacquiao fight especially and because Floyd TKOed him yet he was the last fighter to realistically win more than 1-2 rounds vs Floyd and pressured him the whole fight.

If Shane attacked non stop he would have been stopped, as would Marquez.

Yes. Only because he was KO'd by Floyd and Manny, nothing ot be ashamed about losing to the 2 best fighters on this era.

Ricky had wins over Stewart, Tszyu, Maussa, Collazo, Urango, Castillo, Lazcano, and Malignaggi. He won 4 tiles in 2 weight classes, was a former Top 10 P4P fighter. He is pretty underrated by a ton of people. He did beat Tszyu, a HOF fighter, when Tszyu came back and was the Ring #1 JWW in the world. He has the defining win by beating Tszyu. He was the premier JWW in his era.

I haven't seen that fight in a very long time, but I can't really remember Hatton really winning any rounds against Floyd. What I do remember is that every time Hatton got close to Floyd, Joe Cortez would jump in and splitting them up. Hatton never really got to fight his fight. Cortez would break him up and that kept Hatton at the end of Floyd's punches.

Hatton did really well the first 6/7 rounds against Floyd, not that he won all of them, but u can say he won 3 rounds.

Hatton was a beast, when he fought Floyd, everybody wanted to see that fight, and, of course, there´s only one ricky hatton. Not underrated in my mind, he was a very good and honest fighter.

like all fighters he gets underrated by some and overrated by others. in his prime he was severly overrated, now he gets underrated by alot of ppl. i still think most ppl overrate him though, he was very flawed and one dimensional. yes he gave floyd one of his toughest fights but thats bcuz floyd isnt a puncher and hatton had such a relentless style. anyone who cant get him out of there early is gonna have a rough time bcuz of hattons intensity and determination, yet any top notch fighter will beat him due to his lack of skill and boxing IQ.

Yes, he's somewhat underrated around here since the Mayweather and Pacquiao losses. But that's mostly because people in NSB are ****ing ****** - As if losing to the two best fighters of the past 20 years is something to be ashamed of.

While his resume IS lacking somewhat, his actual talents were pretty damn good. His footwork alone was something I particularly admired for a face-first brawling type like Ricky was.
