I thought gamboa called out rios? Rios accepted.

this is from November 15th 2011.....WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios recently stopped by ‘The Boxing Lab’, BoxingScene.com’s official radio show, and touched on some topics in the boxing world with hosts Ryan Burton, Luis Sandoval, and Ernest Gabion.

"Top Rank" is interested in pitting him with featherweight sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa on January 28th.

Gamboa is tired of looking for big fights at 126 pounds and has decided to chase bigger opportunities by moving up in weight. Rios was asked how he would deal with a fighter like Gamboa, as the Cuban has blazing speed of both hand and foot, but he instantly turned the tables.

“People have said this and that about me, they should be saying ‘He hasn’t faced a guy like Brandon Rios’,” he continued. “Somebody who’s going to put pressure and has power in both hands and that doesn’t give up and can take a shot. Honestly, how is he going to handle my pressure? Because he’s coming to my class, he’s coming to my division, this is my title, this is my world. The only reason I’m number two is because [Juan Manuel] Marquez hasn’t faced me yet. But other than that, I run 135.”



Now when did Gamboa call out Rios, he just wanted to move up in weight...it was Top Rank who was trying to create this fight.....My question is, why hasn't Top Rank made Gamboa-Lopez?

I made a thread about this yesterday and all of NSB went wild saying "gamboa called out Rios"

That's cause they don't understand what it means when some one points out that a LW calling a FW a coward for not going through with his call-out, is hilarious. Let's see Ortiz call out the #1 WW's and JMW's in the first place. He wouldn't do that. Look at him he's big and he's killing himself to make 135 to fight smaller dudes. He wants nothing to do with guys his size. He's the size of a WW, he's supposed to be fighting guys like Pacquiao, Ortiz, Berto, and even JMW's like Mayweather*, Cotto, Lara, Kirkland. But he wouldn't do that cause all of them would **** him up and he knows it. Gamboa probably ****s him up to. If the fight happens and Gamboa beats him, I would laugh so hard at this guy and his brute fans.

I read that thread and your right.Even though Rios has a right to be upset but this dude is a featherweight no reason to go so hard about him pulling out of the fight especially if there trying to make him sign on for multiple fights. There are better options anyway than Gamboa
