Gamboa was the one who wanted this fight. Rios was already set on moving to 140 pounds and only stayed because Gamboa was talking ****, and has been living in the gym since early January, and he signed the contract like 2 weeks ago.

Gamboa SIGNED the contract. If he hadn't agreed to anything he wouldn't have signed.

This is all just a smokescreen on his team's part to avoid the fact that Gamboa has now realized what he's gotten himself into, and doesn't want to get beat up.

But ther'll be a time when Vargas has to mix it up there with a named opponent, and that's what's wrong with it, when is it gonna come.

And as talented and promising as Gamboa is, he might end the route Vargas is threading, which sucks coz he's already there to fight Rios which could mean big for him if he wins. And he's not younger like Broner.

Age is a huge issue. Him missing out on the Juanma fight is significant dough he will never get back. This dude still has a whole family to bring to the US and provide for.

This could backfire. But what if (i hate that but) floyd fights Gamboa as his retirement fight? Gamboa is NEVER getting a bigger check if he stays at TR.

Was there anything not true about what I said about MP getting evicted from their own office space? Relax, Floyd's promotions is not like TR in terms of machinery, that's my only point, deal with it.

And I don't exaggerate on Vargas, just my opinion. If Floyd got big plans for him then good, but when?

Juanma has more long term value IMO, especially with the fanbase. Gamboa's age and lack of english hurts him as well.

But I didn't realize Gamboa was leavin anyway.

I understand the point, I just don't feel as negatively toward Gamboa as you do. Its a ****ty thing to do fans but its his life and reputaion.

well i'm looking at it from a boxing fan's perspective...you on the other hand is looking at it more as a floyd fan getting excited with the prospect of floyd signing up gamboa.

Dude I'm trying to look at it ONLY from Gamboa's point of view. I think he murks Juanma whenever they fight. SO why I see your point about waiting, you nevr know what happens. So if I'm Gamboa, give me the fight early because I'd rather have 500k in my bank account now then MAYBE having 1.5-2 mil in 3 years.

That's the whole point of letting it marinate it is to make it as big as it could be. Sometimes it works like Leonard-Hears when they marinated(Arum BTW) the hell out of that fight until it was at it's biggest. And, sometimes it backfires.

None of that is a good enough excuse/reason to pull the shit he just pulled.
