A part of me wants to see this fight happen, another part wants to see Gamboa just say fuck you Bob, for not giving me the money I want.[From what I understand, Gamboa is not happy with the money?]. The guy is moving up 2 weight classes to fight the #1 guy there, and Bob is probably giving him peanuts for it. Then on top of that, Bob refused to make Gamboa-Lopez when they were both undefeated, which would have been a career highlight win for Gamboa and have his career soaring by now.
And what the **** @ the fans who are calling Gamboa p*ssy? If he doesn't fight Rios? listen to yourselves. A Featherweight going up to 135 to fight the #1 guy there would be one of the biggest wins of this young decade-2010-2019, because it's too much of a leap, vs too good a fighter, this ain't no Pac vs Diaz. So if he chooses not to fight him cause he wants better money for the risk, then so be it. He's supposed to move up to 130 anyways, not 135. Since when did it become a duck, for a Featherweight not wanting to fight the #1 LW? What the hell, that doesn't even make any sense. So Bernard Hopkins is ducking the Kltschko's now? Or Khan is ducking Cotto? Or Sergio Martinez is ducking Chad Dawson?Comment

Dude I'm trying to look at it ONLY from Gamboa's point of view. I think he murks Juanma whenever they fight. SO why I see your point about waiting, you nevr know what happens. So if I'm Gamboa, give me the fight early because I'd rather have 500k in my bank account now then MAYBE having 1.5-2 mil in 3 years.Comment

Yeah and who's he fighting? And until when can he break into super stardom as promised?
I mean Floyd's promotions won't flourish behind a string of evictions, moreso focusing on just one fighter to make it.
Unless they read Jerry Maguire's memo, then Gamboa has to become Rod Tidwell.Comment

But ther'll be a time when Vargas has to mix it up there with a named opponent, and that's what's wrong with it, when is it gonna come.
And as talented and promising as Gamboa is, he might end the route Vargas is threading, which sucks coz he's already there to fight Rios which could mean big for him if he wins. And he's not younger like Broner.Comment

Why would Gamboa "duck" a fight he was asking for?
Brandon Rios didn't ask for this fight, Gamboa did.
For all we know, Gamboa's camp didn't agree to the contractual obligations for this fight in THE FIRST PLACE.
Think about it, we haven't heard s**t from Gamboa's camp since this fight was announced.
He's been gettin royally f**cked by Top Rank for a hot ass minute now, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a result of that fallout.
Arum. contracts, Top Rank, Mayweather, money, whatever.
but please, gon' sitcha'll asses down with that "duckin" s**t, Gamboa been gunnin for some of ur favorites for years now.Comment

you are missing the point. this is more about him agreeing to a fight and abandoning it than him leaving his promoter. you can't use his disappointments with top rank (if he is) to back out from a fight he agreed to. that's just a ****** excuse.Comment
