I said, "IT SEEMS" like
But if ur not accusing Floyd of anything, than what was the point of this thread?
Honest question, what's the point?? What responses were u expecting??Comment

Maybe HBO didn't want to broadcast the fight??I created a thread about this a few days ago and the floydboyz nails came out and they went into full attack mode. All I asked was.......if Floyd is so loyal to hbo like he loves to claim he is, why is he promoting a fight card with one of his own fighters on Showtime and not HBO. One would think that a person with such clout as Floyd would be able to showcase his own fighter on his undercard. No?
Floyd can't control that... If HBO doesn't want it, than Shotime's the next best thing, don't u agree... Take what u can get for your fighter, am I right??Comment

I believe he is. Word was that he was fighting Gomez as the opening bout of the PPV, even though that's a crappy fight. I'd prefer to see him fight that unbeaten Argentina WW Diego Chaves. He hasn't fought anybody but it's still better than fighting Alfonso Gomez.
I also think Jessie Vargas is crazy overrated. There was a thread about a week ago that said if you could be managed and promoted by someone in boxing, who would it be??? I'd be with Golden Boy, Al Haymon, and Mayweather Promotions. Golden Boy, because I'd never be with Arum. Al Haymon because he can guarantee you fights on HBO. And Mayweather Promotions because anything affilited with Floyd will get you automatic hype, look no further than Vargas.
If Jessie Vargas had real good power, I think he'd be a real threat. But, he doesn't. He likes to trade and he can't really hurt you big time. I just see him getting KO'd brutally by one of the Top 10 WW, or he'll at least lose once he fights one of them.Last edited by 4Corners; 03-03-2012, 11:47 AM.Comment

Gomez vs Vargas would be a really good fight in all likelihood. Two pretty well-rounded fighters that come to fight, throw a lot of punches, and don't have tons of power has the recipe for a war. And Gomez represents a pretty clear step-up in terms of competition for Vargas.Comment
