That's one of the big questions, and one I find interesting as well. It seems to me that Yuri will have to adjust to Rios, not the other way around. "Bam Bam" will just go with what he's always done (with small adjustments specifically designed for Gamboa, of course).

Gamboa is really big between fights so I dont think size will be too much of a factor.

This is just a tough fight to call though. I dont know how Rios will react to Gamboa's speed and punches, or Gamboa to Rios'.

Its gonna end in KO/TKO but I dont know who it will be.

Gamboa's chin has become the stuff of Legends round here, mayne. lol How's a guy thats never been hurt considered "chinny"?

Like stated before, in every instance in which Gamboa has gotten knocked down, its been more because of his own momentum & positioning than his opponent's actual punch. And in every instance AFTER the knock down, he's proceeded to completely demolish his opponent in the following rounds.

When I call a dude "chinny", I usually mean he's a guy that doesn't have the ability to stand there and trade, or take punishment. Gamboa has engaged countless times (with larger guys), and has yet to get rocked.

If anything, his flaw IS the fact that he has those mental lapses, where he'll disposition himself or put himself at a disadvantage while trying to be aggressive. Now if Bam Bam will be able to exploit that or not, is yet to be seen.

It's also going to be interesting the way Rios takes Gamboa's shots because with that speed, there's no doubt in my mind Gamboa is going to land some bombs.

If Gamboa retains his speed, and his power is enough to get some respect out of Rios i think he will win. That said Gamboa's stamina has to be better than it has been in some ocassions.

I don't think Yuri'll be able to level Bam Bam too clean. If anything, i can definetly see Bam Bam getting overwhelmed in the later rounds.

Its much harder to keep your power moving up, then moving down.

yea i guess chinny isnt the right word its more like hes susceptible to knockdowns cause hes off balance or when he gets ****y and drops his hands.

Here's why this fight bothers me....

Imagine if Gamboa just blows Rios out, dominates him over like 4 rounds and then finishes him.

That's a HUGE win, the type of win that puts you right into top 10 P4P. But questions about Rios's weight will always put a damper on it and I HATE that. I hate that no matter what there will be a question mark, these two fighters are too good and the fight is too significant. But no matter what, people will bring it up and it's possible that there will be some justification.

                      Right.

The reason why I mentioned that is because handling a "chinny" fighter and handling a sometimes off-balanced fighter is two completely different things.

A chinny fighter can crumble under pressure, or be susceptible to flash knockdowns. Which is who Rios would be perfect against.

A fighter like Gamboa I think will have more problems against a more poised (and technical) counter-puncher.
