It has nothing to do with wanting to knock him out. It has to do with hand speed and fatigue.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. This will make it a bit more difficult for Mayweather to slip in his shots. If I were Cotto I would stand firm since he seems to have done pretty good with the new MX gloves and not just offensively the profile seems to help a lot of fighters defend a larger area. Cotto will need that.

I don't know where you get this idea that cotto won't train properly from.

Not sure if he is as hungry as his last fight with Margarito because he had a reason to be hungry, but I know that he will train just as hard for this fight... its a ****ing Mayweather fight for god sakes. If you beat him, your career and legacy will change forever.

Didn't Floyd initially ask for 10oz gloves in the first nego with Pac? Hmm..

            What?!!!

Mayweather Landed 57% of his punches vs De La Hoya with 10oz gloves on and out jabbed him as well, the De La Hoya that Mayweather fought is better than this version of Cotto at 154lbs....Mayweather will have no problem landing on Cotto.

I don't know why every time Floyd fights, there's all these people thinking he could get KO'ed. People need to stop and ask themselves: who's the last elite fighter Cotto knocked out? How many times has Floyd been stopped in his career? How many times has he been knocked down? How many times has he been hurt?

I think there's a chance Cotto makes this somewhat competitive (by winning 2-4 rnds, for instance) but I can't see anything he has that really troubles Floyd. That's not to say that Miguel's not a fine fighter - he is - but, style-wise, you can probably count the number of fighters over the last 20 years you'd give a realistic shot at beating Floyd on one hand, and I don't see Cotto as being one of them.
being competitive in a 12 round fight is winning 2-4 rounds?

Yes and Pac agreed to all the terms UNTIL Mayweather asked for RANDOM Blood testing.....

When you're fighting Floyd, yeah. Shane was competitive for a round. Ortiz for about half a round. Marquez, as much as I like him, wasn't competitive at all. If Cotto can win a third of the rounds against Floyd, then considering where he's at in his career, he's not done too badly.
