thats my thing with his style. he can emulate floyd very well, but does he understand why floyd does what he does? does he understand when to switch it up like floyd, etc. knowing what/how a person does something and knowing why they do it are two very different things. kinda the same issue i have with donaires rjj impersonation, which, imo, he sucks at.

Im not saying he's Floyd but people keep talking about the Ponce fight without bringing up the fact that he's a Southpaw. Broner was young and even a ton of vets dont know how to fight Southpaws. I said back then that people are too down on him after the Ponce fight. I think being a lefty is the biggest advantage in all of pro sports.

I said you put him in with a righty and he'll look 10x better. Sure enough he's been dominant ever since. It wasnt that Ponce is so great or that Broner isnt that great. Its that he didnt know how to attack or deal with a Southpaw.

good point about southpaws. i converted just because of that advantage. i think it makes it much easier fighting other southpaws from that stance too. i personally think it's a really good thing to have in your arsenal to be able to fight from both stances when situations call for it.

i notice when i spar with other southpaws the straight left to the body is almost always there and much easier to pull off than it is against othordox guys and not as much expected as a left hook to the body from orthodox stance
