benny, his d was considered suspect, but it quickly started to get recognized but not the way it does now of course--he wowed them too much with his offense---and he threw much more combinations at the lower weights, let's not forget--

Don't get too excited mate. There have been more than a few champs and greats that have done amazing ****e early on. To say no one has done the stuff Floyd has done is just nut-hugging at its finest.

Nonetheless, I agree with the rest about Broner. Broner is good, and exciting, a little bit like Floyd all those years ago, but admittedly, Floyd was something really amazing back then. Faster, punched as hard, better footwork, trickier....amazing to behold.

Young Floyd looked better than him.

He doesn't have the power Floyd had and just sometimes looks like Floyd but is missing that minute level of sharpness Floyd has.

He will have a very good career no doubt. However talent wise he won't be as good as Mayweather in my opinion.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I didn't think his defence was leaky. Margarito's defense is leaky....Floyd's was fine and he was still a teenager. It goes without saying that he's still learning. Compared to most at that age he was ****ing Locche.

His combo's were better at those weights than Broner are at the moment. Still, Broner is young too and just coming into his own. I like him and like the way he's coming along. His last few fights have been lightyears ahead of what I had previously seen. He's had a few fights so far that have shown real flaws and bad struggles that Floyd didn't have for a long time.

          We'll see.

at the time, no there wasn't---especially at that weightclass--we have to remember to olympic team from 1996---tarver and judah and vargas weren't going to the body at young ages nearly as much as when they got seasoned--they were head hunters---at 19 years old, floyd was ahead of his time, he knew what going to the body could open up for him---boxing in 1996 in the lower weightclasses didn't have too many prolific bodypunchers---the established stars at higher weights did, but not the lower weights---and floyd wasn't even considered a body puncher doing this time-lol--and he went to the body a lot---

lol go to youtube, open up 2 windows 1 window of Floyd @ 130 and 1 of Broner @ 130 and minimize both screens so you can watch side by side. Floyd has so much more.

believe me, broner is coming alone----but imo, he gets bashed too much for his confidence---if you don't have it, even at that age with those few fights, you'll never have it imo---i hope he does great--he has the tools, no doubt--he has the courage, obviously--it's just more seasoning at this point--stay hungry and sharp--these are his prime years to develop--let's see what happens--

The better question is whether Floyd will ever surpass Broner.
