we don't know how good sillakh is yet. he might be first tier and promoters don't like taking risks so that will never happen. guys like shumenov, allan green, chilemba are 2nd tier. warren has been trying to make the shumenov fight like mad the last year. i've never seen someone so desperate to fight a bum in my life. shumenov is a fake champ(even faker than cleverly) the winner of that fight would be the super duper wbo/wba champion emeritus interim global champion.

Since the first time I ever saw Nathan Cleverly I said that their is nothing special about him.

He continues to confirm it with every fight he has.

If I were him I would stay in Wales and defend his title 20 times against Karpency level fighters then he can say he's a great fighter.

Like I've said in the past, having a good high punch output is good. At the end of the day though, anyone can stand in there and throw lots of punches. It's about putting your punches together in concise accurate world class combination. That's something Cleverly hasn't learned yet.

His trainer needs to make him work on using his jab, train him on controlling range and distance with the jab. His trainer needs to make him work on his footwork, and train him on controlling things from distance, because he has the length and athletic ability to learn these things. He needs to learn how to pick his shots more, and sitting down on them more, not just throwing, but picking your punches and putting them together in a controlled concise accurate crisp manner. But if he steps up and fights Cloud, Hopkins, Dawson, Pascal and even Campillo, I think Cleverly loses badly if he goes in there fighting the way he did tonight.

Sillakh does all of those things you mentioned , and very well right now and like I said and we all know, Sillakh would end that fight. Those douche bag homer boxing announcer dudes from britain made every excuse in the book for the poor performance by Cleverly.

Cleverly better get one good payday because............

This. . . Good matchup to really tell if Clev belongs at the world class level.. If he can beat DIaconu (not via robbery), then he is at least a "lower echelon" world class boxer. . .

If he wants to go ahead and jump into a unification fight, it should be shumenov. . . that's the only champion i see him beating. . .
