Wet blanket, huh? I did state that it was an entertaining fight but that doesn't necessarily mean it was a good fight. And excuse me if I would expect more from what many believe to be the 3rd best, or at least one of the top five best heavyweights in the world. And what I would expect is for Povetkin to at least resemble a world class fighter instead of looking no better than the club fighters that I have watched at the my local National Guard Armory. But, with that said I now clearly see why Atlas did not want Povetkin anywhere near Wlad.

These things tend to be cyclical. I think the HW division is about to pick up by quite a bit. Just need the right matches to be made. When you lived through the better of times, hard to forget them. It's like Jr. Feather now. I might get some good fights, but I can't forget what it was from 96-03ish. It's a way of waiting out loud for good to be great again.
It'll come at Heavy. For now, like I said, the entertainment has picked up in the last year. I'm cool with that.
Let's hope that Wlad dispenses with the caution and shows why he's the champion next week with a highlight reel KO of Mormeck.Comment

Ya i miss the days of watching displays of world class technicians like Foreman vs Lyle awe me with their refined skill. Lyle having mastered it when he started boxing just a few years prior while in Prison.Wet blanket, huh? Sorry, it just irritates me a bit when I've just watched an exciting fight and immediately someone is getting negative about it.Wet blanket, huh? I wonder if Atlas bailed out because he thought Huck would beat Povetkin?Comment

Mormeck gets to the third and I'll be shocked. This is a Holmes-Marvis Frazier type walk on paper.Comment

They wouldn't have needed refined skill tonight. They'd have eaten a slower guy who catches with his face for lunch.Comment

I don't see it as being negative, because the way I see it unfortunately it is just reality. And as far as Atlas is concerned. I think he did more harm then good with Povetkin and he stayed around long enough to add another champ to his incredible stable of World Champions. He had the great Michael Moore and now Povetkin.Comment
