Berto even fought the Ortiz rematch, he wanted to fight Randal Bailey, but HBO balked and forced him to fight Ortiz.
    thats the point

Broner hasn't faced anyone of note yet. If you look at the running debate me and DR are having you will see that I say Perez is a good start but as of right now he hasn't done anything of substance

now let's look at Berto post title. His next was indeed a cherry pick in Forbes

BUT he went on to face the tough and proven Luis Collazo right after. Berto was criticized for the cherry picking prior to him winning the belt (Trabant then Rodriguez was awful) as much as it was after winning (Hernandez Forbes Urango)

I am sorry but IMO Litzau was a cherry pick he had really proved nothing prior to him fighting Broner other than he can be a highlight reel KO, he wins over guys who aren't prepared, and he wins over guys who do not throw punches at all.

and no cmon I think you're exaggerating about him having to face Uchiyama BUT I think we as fans can see better potential match ups other than

PDL- a career 122lb fighter just recently moved to 126
      Litzau
      Rodriguez

don't you agree? Solis, Cruz, Martinez all seem like tougher match ups than the above

According to ESPN and fat Dan it is. Apparently, Berto was extremely disappointed that HBO wouldn't greenlight the Bailey fight. Hymon even hinted at Bertos disappointment.

Knowledge is a good thing. Don't fight it.

Replies with more than three words is even better.
no, its not true because it forced him to lose his belt. bailey was his mandatory. berto is beltless. thats why he wanted that fight.

That dude is bigger then Devon and maidana. How hell he makes 130 is beyond me.

I think people are holding that ponce fight over his head(rightfully so). If he be more offensive he stops EP.

I want to see him Vs bam bam(**** will never happen).

it's just the clothing and the pictures if you are talking about broner.

            he's nowhere near that size

              I can verify this

HBO did not green light Berto vs Bailey as a main event otherwise they wanted that fight as I think DBE has both Dre and Randall

Its not his fault, but its still weak. Mayweather took the belt from a Genaro at 130. He was the champ. He wasn't matched against a relatively unknown fighter for a title. I agree Litzau wasn't a bad fight for him, but his last fight was a gift. I think Broner loses if he fights Uchiyam or Gamboa. He's no Mayweather, Flyod blew through 130. If Broner can blow through Burgos, Salgado, and Uchiyma I'll believe all the hype. He struggled against Ponce's pressure and Broner had a huge size advantage. That undefeated record is bull****.

broner will blow thro burgos, salgado and martinez. have u seen those guys fight?? i mean they are open to be hit. i see no way they beat a guy with broners power and speed. it aint happening. but i would love to see the fights and the shock on ppls faces with how one sided these fights will be.

but uchi? hes the most talented fighter in the division as long as gamboa doeant enter the picture so i have no problem with ppl saying hes better than broner, he probably is.

Exactly. I think he would ko Solis at this point. But I think he struggles against Martinez, Uchiyama, Burgos, and Salgado. And I don't think Salgado is all that great.

You think Berto all of a sudden wanted to give up that paradigm of fighting relatively easy title fights, and just give up his belt? Hell no. He was forced to give up his belt because HBO refused to pay for the fight. They wanted Berto-Ortiz II. So he had no choice but to vacate his title.

Dude, I have no incentive to make this up. Swear to god I read all of this, it was Hymon himself who said Berto was disappointed HBO wouldn't let him do something they'd let him do for years. Hymon was the one who spilled the beans. But Berto of course spinned it as a voluntary choice.

Dude, I would find the article and show it to you, but it would take me too long to find. But I'll give it shot.

But seriously, do you really think Berto would give up his belt and a chance to defend it against Bailey for millions of dollars? Considering we know that this exactly what Berto does? Hell no. He was forced.
i understand what ur saying now, and that much is correct, but i should have clarified instead of outright denying, bailey was his mandatory. it wasnt like he just wanted to fight bailey and cash in, it was the fight lined up to him by the title org and thats why he was stripped. i kno its berto, but its kinda hard to criticize fighter for fighting mandatories. and either way, he did the right thing in the end, forced or not. funny thing is the rematch went to showtime anyways.
