Rios' only chance is if he lands a counter when Gamboa jumps in. That is really the only punch that ever works on Gamboa.

If you go toe to toe, Gamboa knocks you out. If you try to smother him, he pot shots you and dodges. If you bring it to the center of the ring, you get a boxing lesson. The only thing that works ever is the timed counter. If Gamboa avoids that, it will be one sided.

Rios can't outbox him and that pressure stuff won't work on Gamboa. He'll never find him. Plus, Rios is there to be hit. I like Rios, but this is the wrong opponent.

Gamboa's tated canvas from featherfisted fighters. Rios is bigger, has world class stamina, workrate & genuine power. I don't see Gamboa dancing away for 12 rounds. He gets caught & goes to bed. I wish I could be ringside. I'd have a blanket just waiting to toss to him.
I heard the gamboa camp is having a special towel made so when they throw it in the ref cant mistake it or overlook it.

This is Rios vs acosta 2.0

Gamboa will try and box and hit him with his best shot several times. He's ****ed once he realizes after a few rounds that Rios just keeps coming, stalking taking everything you give him and returning everything to the body and face with power.

Rios' pressure is going to be top much.

I don't feel any differently. I still give the edge to Rios. If Brandon comes in healthy, it's going to require everything Yuri has to win this fight. Rios hasn't fought anyone like Gamboa before. Yuri has amazing speed and athleticism. Gamboa has enough pop to get Brandon's attention, and he's an excellent ring general. And, of course, there are the skills....

I think Gamboa's conditioning will be key. Yuri must be able to move just as well in the 12th round as in the 1st. He cannot afford to stand in front of Rios for any length of time. Brandon fights like "The Terminator," constantly moving forward and throwing punches. I don't think Gamboa can stop him. The goal for Yuri will be to not get caught with anything significant for twelve rounds. That's a long time to avoid getting rocked.

Gamboa's chances in this fight are slightly less than fifty percent, in my opinion. But I'm pulling for "El Ciclon." If he manages to pull this one off, Yuri deserves to be top-ten P4P and a real star.

          War GAMBOA!

I have to give the edge to Rios. Size power and chin.

Gamboa IF he's stronger and takes a punch better will have a good chance.

But I have to favor the much bigger man.

I'm shocked that everyone thinks Gamboa will jump to 135 and not be the least bit effected, and actually be better. Rios is a monster, it's a very legitimate question whether Gamboa can handle that.

This is crazy, I'm picking Gamboa but I'm shocked to see so many agreeing with me, like it's obvious. Rios is getting no credit here.

It is possible that Gamboa's rise in weight will also increase his punch resistance. He might be able to take more punishment than he could at 126. I think Rios is gonna have to put plenty of leather on Gamboa to put him away, I got Gamboa by decision. I always put more stock in skill-set than I do physical attributes. When they step in the ring, there will be, at the most, a 10lb differential between them which is manageable. Rios grinds his opponent down by pressuring them. If he can't pin Gamboa on the ropes and **** away on the inside, he'll be ineffective.

That's what I'm saying. Gamboa is favored by landslide which is crazy. I'm taking bets.

I'm not getting the impression that Gamboa is "favored by landslide," although I am somewhat surprised with the support he's getting. I thought there was a poll for this fight. There is none. Somebody ought to start one.
