  • Floyd dont it with Pac. I remember Pac was on Jim Rome awhile back and Rome asked him why the fight wasnt happening and Manny said, "Floyd wants ALL the money" .. Jim was like, "uhh what do you mean, he wants all the money" and Manny kept saying, "Floyd want all da money"

This was before the whole May 5 craziness and before Floyd started going crazy on Twitter. Floyd's ridiculous demands are why the fight isnt happening. The reason this will be one of the biggest fights of all time is not simply because Floyd is fighting. It's because Floyd is fighting Pac. Pac is half of the equation here. Without him, any fight Floyd takes is just another ho-hum fight that no one will really remember unless something crazy happens.. lol sucker punch.

It unofficially sold 1.4 mil ppvs. But TR did HEAVY advertising during prime time march madness games on a major network (CBS) and high profile cable (TBS) when rates are much higher.

SO it cost much more to promote the pac/mosley fight. So its hard to argue pac generates more when he has to spend so much more to get about the same numbers as floyd.

Of course manny has the 1.5 with JMM last fight. But that can't touch floyd's 2.4 with ODH, a number ODH NEVER got close to with far more popular fighters manny, chavez and tito.

      Floyd has earned his spot.

Does it give Pac a pass for allowing his promoter to do any and everything humanly possible to prevent the fight from happening? I'm just saying.
          Yeah.....DUMBO, Forget It!!!

          • the winner should take the bigger split. as simple as that.

if you're a fan of mayweather and have been hanging on to the belief that mayweather would beat pac, explain to me why you would object to this.

easy fight, easy money. pac is one dimensional, amateurish, easy to hit, marquez beat him three times, fought nothing but bums, you name it.

winner takes the bigger split. 60/40.

No. You need to seperate promoter from fighter, business from hubris. As a promoter, you can't make a deal like that becuase you need to make sure your costs are covered. Manny can offer that because he isn't paying for anything up front.

It comes down to one thing:

Floyd has often said "self preservation comes first" The only way he's going to fight Pacquiao is if he get's a career ending pay check. He doesn't like the risk involved and would rather grab other big money fights with far less risk. He's preserving his career.

I think Pacquiao has slipped and his heart isn't in boxing snymore, but Maybe a Floyd fight would light the fire. As far as I'm concerned Pacquiao has beat enough Bradley's already, And Cotto only has enough to give Mayweather trouble early.
                  I agree.

For a second Pac caught heat (last month), and I actually thought Manny was stalling the fight myself.

However, I do remember Koncz going to Floyd's gym on nuimerous occasions and when Floyd was on his twitter rampage, I wondered why there wasn't a response from team Pacquiao.

Come to find out, Manny and koncz had an agreement to keep the negotiations out of the media, only to have Floyd lie and try to paint Manny as the bad guy.

Then the truth came out when Floyd confirmed that he tried to short change Manny with that $40 million dollar flat fee, call him a 7 million dollar fighter and all that other b.s.

That's why I place the blame on Floyd.

Ask yourself which demand is ridiculous vs which demand is reasonable, then you would know who is at fault for this fight still not being made.

The only ridiculous demand I have ever heard from team Pacquiao was the $10 million dollar penalty for coming overweight during the first negotiations. Other than that....I have never seen any unreasonable demands coming from team Pac.

Pacquiao shot the offer down, and had his adviser, Michael Koncz, present a counter-offer of a $50 million dollar guarantee, with 45-45 split - and the winner would grab the final 10%.
