Some others are: Luis Franco, Yordenis Ugas and Rances Barthelemy. I like Yudel Jhonson, a light middleweight, although I don't think he's star material. I saw Barthelemy, a super featherweight, in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. He's pretty decent, but I'm not sure how far he'll go. The Cubans fighting in Germany and Ireland defected in those countries and stayed. (Gamboa started in Germany.) I'm not too familiar with many of them, but Mike Perez (fighting in Ireland) is a promising heavyweight. Yoan Pablo Hernandez (fighting in Germany) just defended his cruiserweight title against Steve Cunningham.

Damit305 just alerted me to a young Cuban prospect named Angelo Santana. He looks promising. Santana, a light welterweight, is 23 years old, fast and skilled. Here's his last fight:

And while not coming out of Cuba I would like to mention:

              Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin
              and
Joey "Twinkle Fingers" Hernandez - which I followed early LIVE up in the Miccosukee Casino "boxing dome".

Unfortunately Live boxing isn't allowed anymore, which I feel is a bad move by the new athletic Miccosukee boxing commission.
This place was a power house for boxing events in South Florida.

I grew up attending Diosbelys Hurtado and a few Joel Casamayor fights here.

Not to mention certain fights such as Mayweather vs Angel Manfredy happened here not too long ago.

Yordenis Ugas is cool as hell. He has a good fight on 3/23 against Juan Garcia who is 11-0 8 ko's.

Diosbelys was a beast! I remember that was one of the first fights I saw as a kid, him vs. Sweet Pea. I was like 7!

Hurtado had everything going for him vs Whitaker.

Unfortunately Whitaker caught him, and Diosbelys couldn't overcome the difference in talent.

I made a video on this a few years ago on my Youtube channel:

Don't laugh at the cheesy editing:

                      "Twinkle Fingers"? Interesting handle.... lol

I just looked up his record. Joey only has one loss, but it was a second round KO. Hmmmm....
