If Gamboa wins he should prob take on big names at 130 possibly a Broner match up.. Depending on how Gamboa wins if he wins against Rios, Im not sure if he should stay at 135.. Might be to quick of a jump..

Big names at 130? C'mon. There is no big name at 130.. Broner is the closest, if eloy doesnt get him.

its 8 lbs jump, I remember how painstaking for pac to jump from 122-126-130-135 and he did not get pass that without a loss...

donaire have already jumped from 112-122 that's 10lbs and have key wins in Darchinyan and Montiel both more accomplished fighter back then when nonito fought them than Rios at this point in time, but I do agree that Gamboa deserve the argument to be on p4p top 10 list but most likely will fall a little short...

if rios beats gamboa and it's evident that gamboa had no business at 135 (against the biggest LW i've ever seen)

          then no

if gamboa convincingly beats a healthy rios he's on my p4p list. that would be pretty damn incredible. rios will probably have 10-15 lbs on him on fight night. at LW that's a huge advantage.

I certainly would have no problem putting him in the Top 10...moving up weight classes against a certified beast? He's already in my 11-15 bubble. I mean, this is a career defining type of win.

I also have Rios in that bubble and he's struggling to make 135. He's a good fighter, Gamboa is a great fighter in my opinion.

You're right. Discussing this issue with the other members here has me convinced that Yuri easily belongs in the top-10 P4P list with a victory over Rios.

                  Not a single exaggeration here.

Quite possibly. It's a real shame this fight isn't for a belt. A Gamboa win would make him lightweight champion. It's one thing to beat a monster like Rios...but lightweight champion! That would be something....

I am on the fence. If Gamboa wins and does so convincingly, its hard for be to imagine that Juan Manuel Lopez got in the Top 10 P4P at one point, and that Gamboa wouldn't be after moving to 135 to take out Rios. Same goes for Rios.

What do you think, and state your case.
I have seen Gamboa crack top 20 - even top 10 p4p lists. Rios is also highly regarded as well but let's be honest what Yuri is doing is sensational.

Moving from 126 to 135 and fighting a force such as Brandon is what will DEFINITELY give him official P4P status of course giving an impressive victory.

Bam Bam is a beast I've always said this and if he wins I can see many believing he simply blew out a smaller guy.
