    The winner of Gamboa-Rios....

Yes, it's official of course. Rios confirmed on twitter as well.

The winner......do you think they deserve to be P4P elite or no???

I am on the fence. If Gamboa wins and does so convincingly, its hard for be to imagine that Juan Manuel Lopez got in the Top 10 P4P at one point, and that Gamboa wouldn't be after moving to 135 to take out Rios. Same goes for Rios.

What do you think, and state your case.

Nah not yet. They are the best opposition they have fought lol. They are the best opponents on their resume. They need a couple of these kind of fights to make it and prove themselves. And poor gamboa might not even be in boxing once Rios walks him down and laughs at his puny lightweight punches.

A win for Gamboa, especially if he looks good, kicks him up a few notches...probably top-15. A win for Rios is good, but doesn't really do all that much for him. Yuri has everything to gain from this fight; Brandon is risking a lot.

I'd say a win for Rios puts him around Top 15-20, but for Gamboa, it'd be Top 12-13 I think. Gamboa did take out everyone at Featherweight, including Salido who KO'd Lopez, who was Top 10 P4P at one for point for some reason. He also took out Ponce De Leon pretty handily, as well as Barros and Solis. And than to jump to 135 and take out Rios, one of the top 2 guys at Lightweight. He'd make a strong case, but not quite their yet to me.

Maybe, but I think that's a little high. I'm basing my opinions on Boxrec's P4P list. The only guy in the top-15 I can see Yuri definitely replacing is Alvarez. There are only a couple of others that you might make an argument for.

Gamboa should be with out a doubt a top 10 P4P just for the simple fact he is moving up 2 weight to challenge the #1 lightweight champ @ NO catchweight. Rios NO but he is not winning anyway

plus its a known fact Gamboa skills is @ elite level

Gamboa will almost certainly make top 10. He's probably borderline right now but a win against rios will put him in there

I would have to agree with this. Both fighters are stepping up to that next level though by taking this fight, they didn't do the tune up fights as previously planned they just said **** it and now we have a very explosive fight on the way.

Id say maybe i believe if he wins everyone is going to say its because Rios was drained blablabla, not take into account he did house cleaning in hes division now jumps 2 to challenge the baddest fker in it id say thats pretty bad ass.

                    Boxrec's current top ten:

                    1. Pacquiao
                    2. Mayweather
                    3. W. Klitschko
                    4. V. Klitschko
                    5. Hopkins
                    6. Martinez
                    7. JMM
                    8. Ward
                    9. Bute
                    10. Bradley

Even without Donaire on that list (I dunno what happened to Nonito, he doesn't appear on their P4P lists), I don't see Yuri replacing any of those guys. Who do you see Gamboa replacing?
