    • What a moron and hypocrite, and I don't think this is all hype, I think it's Mayweather being ignorant again. This is the same guy who claimed HBO is racist and no one likes him because he's black . Get over it.

        • I find it utterly hypocritical that when black americans say something racist its re classified as "the truth" or "keeping it real" but when another ethnicity says something that is not politically correct but that can be classified as "some truth to it" its labeled as racism.

          • Everyone keeps missing the point. Idiotic comparisons to D.Rose aside, it's purely about Lin's background/circumstances. Expectations for Lin having a career in the NBA were next to nil, and he's proven that he belongs. People find his story inspiring. It's the totality of his story, not just his race that makes him such a compelling figure. You can't compare guys like Rose, Stephen Jackson or similar type of players, since their personal stories are considered the "norm". Lin's story is unusual, apart from his racial makeup. He's an IVY League grad, doesn't act like an a$$hole and carries himself in a humble fashion. In other words generally speaking, he's someone that kids look up to. Stephen Jackson isn't, unless you come from similar circumstances, and he still acts like a douche. Again stop comparing Lin to other players, there are no similarities or parallels that you can draw.

              • Floyd sounds ignorant most of the time. But he dont care. He will always act as the bad guy because that works for him so far. He will contradict Pac and unfortunately for Lin he is being hype like any other right now. Do you know that the promotional tour will start in Orlando during the NBA All Star weekend. Can it be possible he wants some of the attention for the fight.

You really can't say its not about race. A Taiwaneese NBA player is rare enough. A HArvard grad in the NBA is almost as rare. Put them together, and the stereotypical media that assumes a black kid from a basketball powerhouse should be doing this while an American with Asain heritage from Harvard couldn't possibly do it and you have all the i ngredients for this being a huge story. That it involves the resurgence of the knicks makes it even bigger.

                  • I made my point on this yesterday....the boy Lin can ball but the media is saling false product...to even put his name next to those GREATS was so misleading and corny....but hey, it sold...cats are buying it!!

this is more about NEW YORK than Lin...its a KNOWN fact the NBA needs for the Knicks teams to be in the hunt....the market requires it....some older dudes believe Jordan was forced by the powers that be to retire for a few seasons to give Patrick Ewing and his Knicks a chance to win a title...thats just word on the street....and guess who won the first EVER NBA draft lottery?!?...thats right, the Knicks!!

i can't believe this post got the reaction that it got. if the guy continues the "work" (25 point, 7 assist, 5 rebound game) HE WOULD BE derrick rose and lebron james's territory. of course no one is saying he'll keep production up, but some of these ****suckers can't help themselves.
