While there are black players who do what Lin has been doing, it doesn't change the fact that it is still impressive. Nobody is saying Lin is on the same level as Jordan, Kobe, or Lebron; however, he isn't far from Derick Rose if he keeps up the work.
Totally missed this comment. SMH. Terrible how a few games can have people saying NONSENSE LIKE THIS!
Obviously Mayweather has an Asian Phobia. Look at some of the comments he said in that youtube rant about Pac. He is not comfortable with Asian's doing great in sports he competes in or loves. There was no reason for him to make the comments he has made regarding Asians on two separate occasions. The pattern is obvious.
FIRM warning. I have already banned 3 people in this thread. If you can't talk about it without insulting any race/national origin, don't say anything at all.
Ok so why when Mike James came out of nowhere and scored 30 points in 4 straight games and became the only undrafted player to average 20 ppg on a season in 2005-06, did he get the same hype and buzz Jeremy Lin got?
So what Lin is doing isnt unprecedented, players get opportunities and make things happen. It's happened before and will happen again.
A lot has to do with the fact that he's from Harvard. I believe there's only been like four guys in the history of the NBa that went there. So yea its a big deal. He also scored the more points than anyone in his first four starts. Undrafted from Harvard, playing in NY, and setting records in his frst week? Of course people will be buzzing about him.

It's not an Asian thing, as he's made similar comments pertaining to K.Pavlik. Floyd, is obsessed with race. He uses it as a way to excuse why the main****** public hasn't embraced him, the same way they have other stars. Except he keeps forgetting about guys like Tyson, SRL and Ali to name a few. Floyd's problem is that he's unrelatable.
• He is, of all things, deathly afraid of needles. "We had to get flu shots," remembers Blankenau, "and he was like, 'I can't do this.' I had to convince him not to duck out a side door. That's the most uncollected I've ever seen him."
True but he has a special affinity for making comments toward Asians in particular. He and his family are dirt bags are public scums.
I agree. Nothing worthwhile ever comes out of this guy's mouth. Tyson, for as many problems as he's had, people still had a sense of feeling sorry for him and embraced him. Even his post boxing life, has had a resurgence of sorts. Long after Mayweather retires, no one will care.
