Steward is an offensive-minded trainer, regardless of score - guess he likes to leave nothing to chance. His flip-flopping as an analyst is pretty hilarious though.

I also saw Donaires face last weekend in a fight he dominated. What does what a fighters face look like have to do with anything? Did you see Pawell's face in the 1st fight with Delvin, he didn't lose BTW.
Go get your slow mo cam & your compubox records & tell me all about it.
(Most people don't know that its just some guy tapping away at punches that he believes landed)

I agree with TS...the HBO dudes were just sucking up Manny something viscious!!....yall know Jim Lampley is one of the Executive Producers for that "On Freddie Roach" bs....those dudes got agendas and it was on full display that night...Marquez did his thing and I'm sick of cats saying just because he did better than expected...that created some type of illusion....GTFOH...Marquez won that fight...it wasn't even close
I remember watching that fight and my phone starting buzzing...I told my homie I was watching the fight and it was around the 8th round...I told him I got Manny winning like one round...two max!!!

Either way, JMM couldn't do that. He fights Pacquiao so tough because he DOESN'T do that. Steward was just thinking he's gotta emphatically win the championship rounds if he wants to get the decision. Also the HBO guys, not just Lederman, were feeling that Pacquiao was winning. Why I don't know, I had Marquez clearly ahead, but they were operating under the assumption that Marquez was behind.Originally posted by Bushbaby View Post1st off bro, the only commentator that was remotely accurate was kellerman that night. They called Marquez running. Fact is his back barely touched the ropes. Fact is the Pacman offense was hushed. Most of the clean effective punches were landed by Marquez. I've watched the fight about 10 times at least & Marquez owned the 11th.
Manny's footwork was garbage. All he used ot for was to jump in, throw meaningless punches & dart away. He coudn't trap Marquez, he never hurt him & Roach was begging for a ko. Compubox was way way of. Most people don't know that its just some guy tapping away at punches that he believes landed. If Merchant or that other idiot were doing compu box, you'd swear the fight was a 1 sided beating in favor of Pacman.

And HBO's color commentary is kind of a joke these days. Lampley, Merchant, meh. Steward's not bad, and Roy Jones was fun to listen to when he filled in.
Manny was the aggressor no doubt but wasn't as effective as Letterman was making him out to be.
