I don't understand the hype over Rigo. He's had 9 fights, a boring fighter who would be boring against anyone, hasn't impressed anyone on any of his fights, has not fought anybody of value. All the known fighters in this division doesn't know this kid. He is being ignored (of course) not ducked!

We can all hate on the Arce fight though. I mean it's an OK fight since he beat Vazquez but we all know his style is suited for Donaire to look good against.

But Nishioka, he's #1 no one should discredit that.
      Agreed!!!

And Nishioka will give him lost of problems too. Nishioka is very good and if nonito beats him, he deserves all the credit.

this donaire dukking rigo is getting old. guess what, even arce and nishioka will also snub rigo because he doesn't bring anything to the table business-wise.
        Its weird

Sergio Martinez fought the #7 ranked Dzinuruk from a division below= Amazing win

He then fights unranked Barker=undefeated tough fighter, great win.

Donaire destroys top 118 fighter, then shuts out top 115 fighter, then goes up again to a new division and fights #7 ranked 122 fighter, yet he's underperforming.

When the top fighter moves up 1 division to fight Donaire, its an easy cherry pick but when Donaire moves up, it doesnt matter

The expectations on Donaire are seriously some of the worst i have ever seen. WAY above whats expected of Floyd and Pac. Even when he's getting lined up to face the top fighter, people still biitch

yeah I'd decline too if I could make more money in a single fight than all four fighters made that first show. And remember he declined and fought Montiel, who was a pound 4 pound fighter at the time and ranked #1 in the division.

That showtime tourney was a very small budget and donaire makes probably the most out of any fighter at 118-122, at least in the states anyways.

I like his fighting style and I was stating the obvious!!!

nobody really is overrating donaire like that...in fact right now here in nsb, rigo is more overrated than donaire.

now he moves up to 122 and he fights wv2, which is a weak fight in an already weak divison. and now his plan is to take on arce, another weak fight in a weak division. at some point, it becomes rather lame to defend him. and theres really no excuse now. neither rigondeaux nor nishi have fights lined up. he should make those happen. hes wasting a lot of time with these lesser fights when he really doesnt have to. he gets a lot of passes, why? i never understood. hes basically underachieving, imo.
              1. Top Ranked declined all together for fear of it tying up one of it's key fighters for over a year. Not necessarily Nonito's fault

              2. not sure I understand how exactly both Vazquez and Arce are considered weak? Not on Donaire's level? yeah at this stage I could see that but both have shown 1. heart 2. skillset 3. the ability to crack 4. the ability to be a titleist in the division Nonito currently resides

IMO WV2 is about the level of Yhonny Perez when he was a champ. When Abner had a questionable draw against him it did wonders for him. When Darchinyan beat him quite a few people claimed Darchinyan was back

IMO I think both his fans and his detractors boost Donaire's status too high making it almost impossible for him to live up to it. His fans call him one of p4p's best think he can move up to 126 and dominate and is unbeatable. His detractors feast off of that

he is somewhere in between. Uber talented but somewhat befuddled when things do not go quite as planned.

Its because they just saw him potshot Ramos and have no idea who Nishioka is so they need to find someone to compare to Donaire and say Donaire is ducking him

I mean there were like 1, maaaaybe 2 rigo fans on here before his win over ramos. And there still are but a ton of Donaire haters have showed up so they just jumped on Rigo

Yeah I don't see Arce beating Donaire in any way shape or form. Just too small, old, and war torn.

At least Arce will get a good paycheck for retirement.

I'll bet money that Bob won't even let Rigo get the Nishioka fight, because if Rigo beats him, it puts a ton of pressure on him to throw Donaire in with Rigo later this year. It won't happen.
