even if that were the case, theres no way vasquez nor arce are on donaires level, they arent even a step below it. donaire is good enough to be the best fighter at 118, 122, and 126. to me, theres really no way he should be fighting arce when he could be fighting nishioka. i dont even think nishi beats him, but itd be his best fight to date.

Its because they just saw him potshot Ramos and have no idea who Nishioka is so they need to find someone to compare to Donaire and say Donaire is ducking him
I mean there were like 1, maaaaybe 2 rigo fans on here before his win over ramos. And there still are but a ton of Donaire haters have showed up so they just jumped on Rigo
If Nonito ends up fighting just Arce and Nishioka, than jumping to 126, how was he not avoiding a fight with Rigondeaux???
I just hope Bob lets Rigo fight who ever Nonito doesn't fight next. But, I am guessing he won't, because than that puts pressure on him to throw Nonito and Rigo in together. And Bob doesn't want that.Comment

I'm a big fan of both guys - donaire & rigondeaux and have been since Rigo's first pro fight and Donaire for years now.
Some haters are jumping on the Rigo bandwagon just to hate on Donaire, that's true, but others like me want to see the best fight the best and we have three guys - #1. Nishioka, 2. Rigondeaux and Donaire. These guys need to fight eachother, that's all I'm saying. There shouldn't be any excuses about who is a big draw and who isn't because there are no real draws at 122 in America besides Donaire.Comment

Its weird
Sergio Martinez fought the #7 ranked Dzinuruk from a division below= Amazing win
He then fights unranked Barker=undefeated tough fighter, great win.
Donaire destroys top 118 fighter, then shuts out top 115 fighter, then goes up again to a new division and fights #7 ranked 122 fighter, yet he's underperforming.
When the top fighter moves up 1 division to fight Donaire, its an easy cherry pick but when Donaire moves up, it doesnt matter
The expectations on Donaire are seriously some of the worst i have ever seen. WAY above whats expected of Floyd and Pac. Even when he's getting lined up to face the top fighter, people still biitch
donaire i think has already reached that boxing status where he already accomplished a lot and a lot of people want to see him lose. that's why they want him to fight guys they think he can lose to. if not, they automatically label him as a ducker.Comment

Vazquez was no more proven or any better than Rico Ramos for christ sake. The guy made his first step up in competition last year against a tiny Jorge Arce and got TKO'd. Ramos made his first step up against Shimoda and was down on points, but wound up knocking Shimoda out to win his title.
So, Vazquez was about as tough as Ramos, people to stop acting like Donaire beat some great former champion at 122. Call it both ways. Vazquez and Ramos are pretty much equal level.Comment

1. Top Ranked declined all together for fear of it tying up one of it's key fighters for over a year. Not necessarily Nonito's fault
2. not sure I understand how exactly both Vazquez and Arce are considered weak? Not on Donaire's level? yeah at this stage I could see that but both have shown 1. heart 2. skillset 3. the ability to crack 4. the ability to be a titleist in the division Nonito currently resides
IMO WV2 is about the level of Yhonny Perez when he was a champ. When Abner had a questionable draw against him it did wonders for him. When Darchinyan beat him quite a few people claimed Darchinyan was back
IMO I think both his fans and his detractors boost Donaire's status too high making it almost impossible for him to live up to it. His fans call him one of p4p's best think he can move up to 126 and dominate and is unbeatable. His detractors feast off of that
he is somewhere in between. Uber talented but somewhat befuddled when things do not go quite as planned.
People judge his possible fights as if the fighters are on "Donaire's level" instead of how good they rank and resume are.
Cmon calling fights like Narvaez and WV2 a tune up, when it would probably be almost any other fighters best win is ridiculous.Comment

I find it laughable that so many on the Donaire bandwagon label Floyd a ducker because he didn't fight Margarito and hasn't fought Pacquiao, but than turn around and come up with reasons as to why Donaire didn't fight Mares, Moreno, Agbeko, and now probably won't fight Rigondeaux, who is his biggest threat at 122. It's pure hypocrisy.
Nonito is great, we all just want to see the best fight the best where Nonito is at. There is no draw or money maker at 122 besides Nonito, so that should be the last excuse.Comment
