There was nothing in control about the Vazquez fight. he took some BIG shots, too many, DANGEROUS big shots. That is never "in control". Stop listening to the commentators, watch Donairs mannerisms, listen to his corner. You all had the fight wide.. Garcia pleaded with Donaire in the last 2 rounds saying "we NEED these rounds". And although I disagree that he "needed" them.. I actually had teh fight a lot closer than a lot of you. Donaire showed urgency, several times. A guy "in control" doesn't need to do that.

This was not a 1 sided affair at all (at least not in the way people think) people just seem to like judging blocked punches and give no credit to a healthy jab. He got caught flush with some MEAN right hands as well and a lot of times while trying to slip them, so I don't want to hear "oh, he let him"... really?
FYI. I don't think you understood what was going on there.

Nonito has a habit of staring at his opponent and admiring his 1-4 seconds of work.El capitan senior Garcia wants Donaire to bomb Vasquez. Not pot shot sit back and stare at him again after he punches.

But to throw a fuselage of punches like Pacquiao. You can hear him say, again nonito! AGAIN.You can see the disappointment in Garcia in between rounds and in the interview.

Garcia was not happy with the result.Nonito would not do what he asked him to do.He said to Donaire he can't handle your power.Finish him off go strong.

He sure didn't steam roll Vazquez at 122, as many thought he would, including myself. And Vazquez is no better than Rico Ramos, who Rigo haters love to bring up. I was surprised that Nonito kept eating jabs from WV2, and WV2 landed some pretty flush shots after the first 4 rounds or so.

The only person that can beat Donaire at 122 is Rigondeaux though.

cant understand why Donaire need to show off with his imitations of Roy, etc.

it's like he's trying hard to get attention..even Floyd, himself an attention seeker, never gets to showboat this much, esp. during fights

He might always be the favorite at 122 but he is beatable. Now he has speed and power not to mention good size those are all great attributes to have but keep in mind he is also sloppy and predictable.

Speed and power seems like an unbeatable combo and honestly it is tough to overcome but it is not impossible, he could get out manueverd by a more thoughtful guy.

Do you think someone in the 122 lb division will outbox, outwork, or even KTFO of him?

His last 2 fights are indeed ugly, but he is in control. Narvaez and Vasquez most of the time covers their face up and just jab and potshot the way out of him. Thus Donaire tends to showoff and lower his guard inviting his opponents to come and slug it out. And that resulted to him getting hit by those potshots.

But how about Arce, Nishioka and Rigondeux? Do you think they will do the same? I'm no pro but I seriously believe Donaire will beat all these guys.
So it's mostly racism if a person thinks that Donaire is not invincible @ 122?

On the other hand it's so clever and cute to call it "racism stuffs".

That totally excuses the mindlessness of the assumption. You just waltz on by all that nasty accountability.

Except when you get called on it...dumbshlt...

            Is my contempt sufficiently palpable?

            On topic:

Donaire seems cool as hell w/a sweet wife and I believe really wants to deliver great entertainment to those of us that pay for it while at the same time advancing his career.

Between 118 an 130 are definitely some potential matchups w/guys that could (didn't say would) beat him:

            Rigondeaux

            Gamboa

            Gary Russell Jr

            Abner Mares

            Adrian Broner

Would get a big ol' stiffy if they announced any combination of the above as a done deal.

I finished re-watching it now, while he could have performed better, I think he performed really well considering the circumstances. I've seen worse performances than that from top caliber fighters when presented with the same challenges, i.e facing someone who isn't looking to win. What Donaire needs to do is utilize the jab alot more. A smaller, less experienced, slower fighter should have never been able to out jab him in the first place. Don't think my opinion on Donaire has changed much, he's still beastly.

A good boxer could probably beat Nonito.

I find that Nonito is vulnerable to a good jab. A good boxer won't just jab or 1-2. A good boxer will mix it up all while remaining smart in the ring.

Poonsawat could give him a run for his money I believe. A sturdy guy who uses his jab and is patient when fighting.
