So boxing in the " free " world is great?? Promoters and commissions are corrupt and itīs also ridiculous that an athlete becomes ****** rich and some scientists donīt have a job. And donīt think just because you are Cuban ( probably Cuban-American) you know everything about Cuba.

Maybe he would''ve ended 300 - 100 as he doesn't seem to box too smart. I mean c'mon Vazquez jr s jab landing on him all night...

      • Boxers with 9 wins and whose best win is against ricardo cordoba should be ignored by fighters who are in the top 5 p4p of the whole sport who happens to be a 4 division champion with two spectacular ko wins over other two top 10 p4p fighters.

        Righteously/Rightfully/justifiably so.

That's the point I'm trying to make, HBO didn't think there was enough 'quality' fights in Rigo that requires them to pay especial respect in public for him. But I bet if Rigo had 20-0, they'd be compelled to do so, even without about the 'quality'. Quality is very abstract idea to many people, but numbers sell. That's the way things are.

          • I love how Rigondeaux is so much overrated in this forum, and his fanboys are at full force.

And LOL at him bashing the network as if they owe him anything.

One of the greatest amateur in years, yeah, but 9-0 pro fights where he struggled with Cordoba and a greatest win so far in Ramos, and this guy b1tches and moan about recognition?

              • Rigo's throwing a tantrum like a little girly. What does he expect? To be ceremoniously paraded about because he beat Ramos? He expected HBO, Bob Arum, and Larry Merchant to fawn over him? He just lost a few G points for this episode of 'nobody's paying attention to me'.

                • Wow, he really thinks he's Billy Bigtime now doesn't he?

god you should have seen it back at the start of 2008, at the haye maccarinelli fight- they introduced a bunch of fighters to the ring- talking the likes of frank bruno, joe calzaghe etc.
then "and now the guvnor of british boxing"- i'm sat there thinking who on earth it was going to be...

i'm half wondering if arum snapped him up to make a few quid on the side but basically so he would be better able to control keeping him away from donaire who was always going to be moving up to this weight class...
or am i just a cynic?
