Haven't heard enough yet to deem Donaire unlikeable.
Naz was a love/hate figure, but he was a supreme entertainer and hit like pretty much nobody else. His unorthodox style worked for him and he (almost) always got the job done in spectacular fashion. At least he was original.

Donaire is just a wannabe. He looked massive next to Vasquez even moving up in weight, yet couldn't get him outta there. Once he realised that he should have outboxed him instead, except he seemingly ran out of ideas AGAIN and looked like a Jones Jr/Naz etc wannabe.

Take Khan 2 best wins which is Kotelnik and who? Maidana? And, his resume isn't as good as Donaire.

Take Maidana 2 best wins which what? Morales and Cayo.....? Matter of fact you don't have to take away his 2 best wins. His resume still isn't as good as Donaire even if you take Donaire 2 best wins away.

None of the fighters that you mentioned has a win as good as the Montiel win.
Youre blowing up the Montiel fight too much. Thats your problem.

Montiel has been on his way out. The hasegawa win was his last hurrah. Similar to Rico Ramos losing every round to Shimoda then scoring a KO, That was Montiel vs Hasegawa.

Take Maidanas wins over Cayo, Morales and Victor Ortiz... alll guys his own size.

Ward beating a favorite in Kessler and then a prime Froch? Dominate Glen Johnson and AA and Sakio Bika? ****s on Donaire 2 greatet hits. All guys his own size too. No one made one complaint that Ward is fighting undersized guys. They say that all the time about Nonito.

Khans been fighting more live guys than Nonito, not even close.

Donaire more skill than Mares? FAIL.

Abner was a Mexican Olympian with a win over Juanma.

Donaires AM career has a loss to Viloria.

I woould have to say that Abner has that talent, its just harder to show when your not pitted against midget after midget.

      Nice try though

Donaire is a nice dude but he comes off like a big fake. And Rachel is way too obnoxious for somebody who's not that pretty.

Like Carl Froch's girlfriend, she's allowed to be a big b!tch cuz you expect that from a smoking hot chick.

It's because his style is not a fan/tv friendly. There's always lull in the action.Because his work rate is low for a lighter weight boxer. He also has one of the worst defense.I don't know if he can improve on this.A counter puncher will always be cautious.I just do not know if he can win the heart of fans and get the PPV numbers with this kind of style, i really don't think so..All his fights are like this.

He is good. But like you said, not exciting. He doesn't have that bad boy personality like Mayweather or Naseem. So he can't sell fights outside the ring.If your fight is boring in the ring and you do not have the gift of the gab out side of it.YOU'RE in TROUBLE.

I wish him the best. But he needs to go back to the drawing board and see what they can come up with.I would like to see more volume punches not just KO punches all the time.I would just like to see more ACTION in the ring.
Not just posing waiting. To be honest that's what the fans want to see.ACTION!

Not KO.Beutiful boxing too.I know it's not easy. But oh well. This is the boxing business.Nonito has to be exciting to sell fights. It's a tough business to be in and I hope Nonito the best.It was a good win, but he loss on the marketability front with that performance. That to me is where he disappointed.

That's obviously a casual fan. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

              Why?

It's kind of true bro. This is what NONITO has to work on selling your boxing style to the boxing fans.Fans wants to see action in the ring.To me this is where he disappointed. He won, it was a good win,but he loss ratings yesterday with that kind of performance.

whats to dislike about Donaire? He has real talent unlike his fellow countryman Pacquiao, and he comes off as an honest guy in all his interviews.

Lots of people hate Mayweather, yet he seems to be doing ok, wouldn't you say?

and if you're issues is with technical fighters instead of brawlers, than that's your problem, not Donaire's.

i wouldn't consider myself a casual fan but i found his style quite un-entertaining. he try to blast out his opponent, it's mostly obvious from a mile off so his opponent gets defensive and then...
yeah runs out of ideas so continues along the same lines but starts to get hit here and there. it is pretty dull.
i can see people argue something similar about rigondeaux but he doesn't run out of ideas, he's just biding his time and showing unbelievably good defence in the meantime. and at no point does he try to look like a half arsed version of jones jr, or naz. la calidad es la calidad. not quite sure what donaire's catchphrase should be...

Once Pac retires, the fans of Pac will convert to Nonito fans.. Donaire is still living in the shadows of Pac.. He will be appreciated more once Pac retires...
