Donaire may be talented but isn't likeable like pacquiao

alot of comparisons are being made between donaire moving up through the weights like pacquiao but he just doesn't have the endearing qualities of someone like manny to become a real star i believe

there's something about him that isn't particular likeable can't put my finger on it

i respect garcia as a trainer aswell but his camp are full of scumbags like margarito and rios maybe that is rubbing off on donaire who i see becoming increasingly arrogant and unlikeable

like what was with all the mock roy jones moves last night?

i think he was surprised at how vasquez was able to take his punches and even when he got buzzed couple times donaire couldn't get him out of there so he resorted to taunting to try and get him to trade with him more

he's talented no doubt but he is no pacquiao or naseem hamed thats for sure

let's see him in there with guys like chris john or gamboa before we say he's top p4p fighter right now i just don't see it

Naseem was likeable? I thought he was a complete pr*ck personally. Extremely unlikeable.

Haven't heard enough yet to deem Donaire unlikeable.

The way he left the sport left me pretty sour towards him tbh. After all of his bravado, to walk away in that manner, and that age, after one defeat didn't go over well.

Donaire was fine last night, not spectacular. Got him with the jab a lot more than usual, but he still won the fight in pretty clear fashion. Never looked like getting a stoppage though.

true but in order for him to be a star like many are hoping he has to have some qualities that transend boxing ricky hatton had it as does pacquiao in order to be a real star in this sport you don't necessarily have to be likeable either (mayweather) but you need something that can draw people to you other than skill for me he just doesn't have that

and all this p4p talk is abit over the top every fight i have seen donaire in with on HBO he has had all the advantages over i understand that is because there are few that have the combination of size speed and power that he has but really other than Montiel and Darchiyan i don't believe he has faced anything like the kind of comp that guys like amir khan marcos maidana tim bradley or andre ward has yet they seem to be behind donaire in many p4p lists not that those ****s matter anyway but still

oh and maybe some didn't appreciate naseem hamed's ****iness but he was a far more interesting and exiciting guy to watch than donaire i found myself getting quite bored in his last two fights

Yea but that's not being fair at all. You taking away the fighters 2 best wins and then comparing his resume with their whole resume.

Take Ward 2 best wins which is Kessler and Froch and his resume isn't as good as Donaire.

Take Khan 2 best wins which is Kotelnik and who? Maidana? And, his resume isn't as good as Donaire.

Take Maidana 2 best wins which what? Morales and Cayo.....? Matter of fact you don't have to take away his 2 best wins. His resume still isn't as good as Donaire even if you take Donaire 2 best wins away.

None of the fighters that you mentioned has a win as good as the Montiel win.

maybe on paper but look how big Donaire was compared to Montiel he had all the advantages even though it was Nonito that was coming up in weight

ward has in between beating kessler and froch beaten green, bika and abraham all are top competition well maybe not green

khan's is debatable yes but since becoming champion ever other fight has been against guys that at least have something they bring to the table that may cause him problems

and maidana is a warrior yeah ok he ain't that great a boxer but he seems to me like a guy that will fight anyone anywherw anytime

i believe Donaire don't want it with certain fighters or maybe i should say top rank don't

they put guys infront of him that they know he can knock out the last two guys have changed the script slightly and i think shown that if you have a half decent defense you at least survive getting ko'd like many who have fought nonito have
