Cotto will smash Floyd if he comes with a BS 10 punches per round, who you think he is, Victor Ortiz? Who by the way, did land on Floyd. Floyd took the EASY ****ing way out that fight even though Ortiz is a big ***** because he knew he couldn't knock him out fair and it was going to be a rough night. With Cotto it will be even rougher. Sleep on his skill, my boy got a real bounce and can keep up with anybody, especially with this new trainer, all he needs to do is listen. Contrary to popular belief, this version of Cotto might be even tougher for Floyd and this version of Floyd may be easier for Cotto, since Floyd's slowed down a tad bit and isn't as agile. Floyd is taking his riskiest fight since DLH and that isn't saying much about his career.
LMAO!!!!!! "THIS VERSION OF COTTO" what version would that be the one that gasses after 4 rounds gets on his motorcyles for the remainng 8 gets beaten to a bloody pulp and has porta rican doctors prematurley and very conveiniently stop a fight right when his opponent is starting to land flush??but he has a new trainer version......... just roflmao!!!!!!! its actually a ***** move on jrs part to pick such a crappy opponent and discredited i guess he wanted an easy fight before he went to jail.........

    • I can respect that reply dawg... Your speaking with sense, your saying all the stuff he does is just business... Coo, Floyd mayweather is a rated r boxer because he set a bad example on tv. He might be a better guy with no cams around but hey it is wut it is.. If that's how you want to be remembered when your dead and gone so be it, can't take the money witcha money

      • I hope Cotto does win but I just can't agree with such a ****** explanation.

Roach failed to mention that while Floyd throws 15-30 punches per round, he's an expert at limiting his opponents to even less than that, and limits them to landing only single digit numbers a round. Shane Mosley landed his fewest amount of shots in his career vs Floyd at the time.

I'm sorry, but if Roach is banking on Floyd's workrate as his weakness, he is trash. He's ignoring that fighters against Floyd land have of the percentage they're use to landing on other fighters. A fighter that lands on average 30% of his punches per fight, would land around 15-20 percent against Floyd. While Floyd lands about 40-50% of his power shots, and averages about 35-40% on his opponents. Ijust throwing numbers out there from the top of my head, but I know these numbers are close to the real thing.

        • Freddie Roach gives all kinds of ****** opinions. He's wrong much of the time, but its not impossible for Cotto to win. Just highly unlikely.

Fact is though ... Roach gives Floyd the most respect by keeping his prized fighter away from a match with Mayweather.

That says VOLUMES more than cheap soundbites and excerpts.

In just one year, Roach has gone from saying that Floyd is the easiest fight to saying that Floyd is the toughest fight.

There's really no wonder why either. As the days grows closer to a possible match between the two, Roach needs to do as much retracting statements and damage control BEFORE those two settle it with their fists.

And after seeing how inept Manny was in his last outing, Roach knows that a masterboxer like Floyd will do everything that Marquez did right and more, and make many less mistakes than Marquez did.

The hype cannot thrive forever on its own. Eventually Manny will have to step up or bow out. If Manny chooses the latter, stating "I'm fine without Mayweather" just won't cut it legacy-wise.

Better believe that Arum, Roach and Pacquiao will be praying in front of Manny's little candle shrine the day of Mayweather/Cotto hoping that Floyd looks like crap or gets KTFO.

Its the only way out for them. If and when Floyd wins, all roads lead to the long overdue mega showdown that will be a routine and boring schooling for the overly hyped filipino politician.

The check hook will find a home over and over again. Mark my words. Watch Manny's style and watch Floyd's lead left hook. The story practically writes itself.

Cotto will be a more difficult fight because he can actually box. He's not elite, but his fundamentals are sound. That's a lot more than I can say for most of Roach's fighters.

          • How do you win a round only throwing 15 punches per round??

You win them when you land 13 of them with pin point precision while your opponent only lands 2 of the 100 he throws.

            That's how, Freddy.

            • Don't be fooled by this, Roach knows Cotto has no chance, he's just taking his dig at the Mayweather's.

Roach understands boxing and knows the truth, it's just the same back and forth we have gotten used to.

                • Cotto will get pummeled.

People seem to underestimate Floyd's activity pretty wildly.

It is a myth that Floyd is extremely inactive in the ring:

Mayweather threw 39.8 punches per round vs Mosley

Mayweather threw 52 punches per round vs Ortiz

Mayweather threw 41 punches per round vs Marquez

Mayweatehr threw 38 punches per round vs Hatton

Mayweather threw 40 punches per round vs Delahoya

Where exactly do people get this 15-30 punches per round number?

But I see what you saying either way its going to be a good fight, I do believe Cotto is going to do a lot better than what people think.
Your on point with that but I'm hoping his new cuban trainer can see that and make the needed adjustments to give floyd more trouble than hes had in his last couple fights. I think as long as Cotto lets his hands go and keeps floyd on the defense he can steel some rounds. But even tho I want Cotto to beat his arc if I had a couple grand to put on this fight I'd have to put it on Money Mayweather. Bring him war Cotto!

I guess he finally said "F it"! I'm money May now and became a vicious ego maniac. Most of the time on here people post on Floyd personality and don't really look at him as the fighter because if they did then they would respect the dude for his capabilities in the ring instead of just talking non sense from a personal view.
Its amazing just how blind people are. One day he was Pretty Boy Floyd, humble, not a big braggard, was gonna whup Diego Corralles for all the abused women(even though he had been to court himself already), the next minute he was "Money". Flashy, bragging, talking lots of trash, showing off, throwing money. It amazing that people hate sooo much, that they don't see through this crap.

Its the same with Pac's humble family man, "gosh golly gee" persona. I bet that side does show up when he is impregnating hookers, sleeping with starlets, ******** on **** fights, and drinking and partying excessively. Yet people buy all that crap hook like and sinker, just like the sheeple that they are. And then they wonder scratch their heads and wonder how Arum is so rich. Its because so many others are so ******!
