well neither ones that you mentioned were robberies. They were close enough where either guy could have won. So when it's a close where either guy could have won then yea is fine to go with the "official record." But, when there is a clear robbery, that should be different. And, IMO the closest ones to robberies are Whitaker/DL and JMM/Pac III. But, maybe more gift than robbery. Either way. Martinez-Cintron was a true robbery. And, he was robbed TWICE in one fight. It really is quite different to the examples you made.

3.He might impress others with his 7 fights in 7 years (3 of which is major controversy) but im not impressed.
      1. I fail to see how inactivity should be a knock against greatness. It's either wear-and-tear, or ring rust. Pick your poison.

      2. The fact is, since this Pacquiao mess, he's picked the next best opponent EVERY TIME. Remember he was scared of Shane Mosley when Shane and B-Hop crashed his interview, then he dominates him next and "Shane was shot, Floyd picked the right time," etc.

      3. Yeah so, controversy or not, it's a mere coincidence he comes out on top over and over again huh?

Nobody from 140-154 beats Floyd. Not unless he completely loses his prime and just gets too old in ring age.

At 160, Floyd may beat everyone there or lose to some, who knows. But I know Martinez gives him a good fight, possibly beats him. And Paul Williams, whether he's done or not, is not a walk in the park for any boxer.

Lets be honest, any fight Mayweather takes, he'll most likely win...at the same time, any fight he takes, he will be said to be "ducking" someone else...this guy cant fight EVERYBODY. If he beats Cotto, and is ready for Pac....he ducked Martinez.

If he fights Martinez, then he's ducking Pac. This guy will never get his credit for taking on the best challengers. Even after he beats Cotto, ohhhh its too late...this fight is overdue...

Lets be clear, there is no fighter skilled enough to put a gameplan together to beat this guy. The only way to beat May is the puncher's chance. I agree with all of those who said he is far more skilled. He has the science down too well..I think Cotto has a better chance than Pac does. Way more skilled...even though he lost to him...styles make fights...Standing and throwing punches and being off balance like Pacquiao will get u picked apart by Mayweather. If Cotto had better defense, counter punching, and stamina...he could have won that fight..

yes, but Floyd will not come in at a full 154..hes okay with Cotto rehydrating, because hes much smaller than Martinez..but Martinez would rehydrate to a much heavier weight..he would be giving up way too much weight at 154..
Sergio needs to take on the fights in his division..and stop calling out smaller fighters..but skill wise..Floyd would make Sergio look oh so ordinary..Sergio keeps his hands down(no, not just when hes comfortable, he always does it!)
thats how he trains..thats his style..and Floyd would make him pay for it!

to answer the TS..NO!..not at this point..but Floyds getting older everyday..

I don't think Floyd wants to fight past 35-36 though.

Inactivity imo hurts. If he fought more and showed more of his talent more often even if he loses a fight or two...fight more show more. You are only as good as you last fight. And Shane was begging for a Pay day and was making money of his name...Pac and Floyd was past his potential. So he waits a year to fight Ortiz, and look. Now almost another year he fighting Cotto.
hows it hurt? Manny for example: Fought three fights nov 2010 to Nov 2011
Thats 36 rounds in a year.
Floyd fought In one year 4mths ,,twice. barely 16 rounds. He came out on top, but does it hurt...? will it? and is it? Think about it.
